Top 5 Things You Need To Know About The New Royal Enfield Himalayan 450
Royal Enfield has revealed the new Himalayan motorcycle at the EICMA 2023, along with that the company has also commenced the bookings for the model in India. So, if you are planning to buy the new Himalayan, here are the top 5 things you need to know about the model.
New Royal Enfield Himalayan: Design
In terms of design, the new Royal Enfield Himalayan looks like an evolution of the outgoing iteration of the Himalayan bike. However, a closer look reveals that Roya Enfield has improved every single element on the upcoming Himalayan bike over the outgoing model.

Some of the noticeable design details include round LED headlights, a large rider seat and fuel tank, a clear windscreen above the headlamp, rear indicators with integrated brake lights and much more.
Royal Enfield Himalayan: Chassis & Suspension
The new Royal Enfield Himalayan motorcycle uses a Twin-Spar frame, and suspension duties are carried out by open cartridge USD forks at the front, and a mono-shock unit at the rear. Also, the suspension for the model is supplied by Showa and the whole bike weighs just 198 kilograms.

In terms of dimensions, the new Royal Enfield Himalayan motorcycle measures 2,245mm long, 852mm wide, and sports a wheelbase of 1,510mm. This makes the new Himalayan a bigger bike than the outgoing Himalayan motorcycle.
New Royal Enfield Himalayan: Brakes & Tyres
The new Royal Enfield Himalayan motorcycle uses a 320mm disc brake unit at the front and a 270mm disc brake unit at the rear. Also, the model comes with dual-channel ABS for more effective braking performance.

However, Royal Enfield has added an option to turn off the rear ABS, a feature essential for experienced off-roaders. For tyres, the new Royal Enfield Himalayan uses a pair of bespoke CEAT 90/90R21 and 140/80R17 tyres at the front and back, respectively.
New Royal Enfield Himalayan: Features
In terms of features, the new Royal Enfield Himalayan motorcycle features an all-new circular full-colour digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, all-LED lighting, 3 ride modes, a height-adjustable seat, traction control and much more.

New Royal Enfield Himalayan: Powertrain
The new Royal Enfield Himalayan comes equipped with an all-new 451.65cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder Sherpa 450 engine with 39.5bhp at 8,000rpm and 40Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. This makes this second-gen Himalayan a lot more powerful than the outgoing version of the Himalayan motorcycle.
Unlike the outgoing version of the Royal Enfield Himalayan, the new Himalayan bike comes equipped with a 6-speed gearbox, which is a boon for long-distance touring. Furthermore, the model also comes equipped with a Slip & Assist clutch for smoother downshifts.

Thoughts About The Upcoming Second-Gen Royal Enfield Himalayan
The second-gen Royal Enfield Himalayan addresses one of the biggest shortcomings of the outgoing Himalayan - Peak power. With its new Sherpa 450 powertrain, we expect the new Himalayan to be more powerful and well-suited for long-distance adventure getaways.
