Ather Energy continues to be one of the most popular electric two-wheeler manufacturers in the country. Also, the startup automaker has carved out a separate fanbase for itself in the Indian EV market.
Now, the type approval certificate of the new electric scooter from Ather Energy has been leaked online. According to this leaked type approval certificate, the upcoming electric scooter from Ather Energy is based on the top-spec Ather 450X platform.
Looking into details, the upcoming Ather '450X LR' will feature the smaller 2.9kWh battery pack. Furthermore, it will also come with all the perks of the top-spec model along with the 'Warp' mode.
Thanks to the Warp mode, the upcoming Ather 450X LR electric scooter is able to dish out 6.4kW of peak power from its Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM). That being said the Type Approval certificate also reveals the power output in other ride modes.
These additional ride modes include Sport, Ride, Smart Eco and Eco. Out of these ride modes, the 'Sport' mode restricts the peak power to 5.5kW, whereas the 'Ride' mode further restricts the peak power to 3.2kW.
Finally, the Smart Eco mode yet again restricts the peak power to 2.3kW and Eco mode enables just a fraction of peak power output at just 1.9kW. We expect this Eco mode to significantly improve the range of the electric scooter and it will be ideal for short distance commutes.
That being said, the technical specifications of the Ather 450X LR electric scooter remains quite identical to its existing model range. As such, it is safe to expect similar performance as the EV maker's existing range of models.
According to the type approval certificate, the Gross Vehicle Weight of the Ather 450X LR is rated as 240 kilogrammes, and the wheelbase of the model stands at 1,296mm. In terms of other dimensions, the Ather 450X LR measures 1,891mm long, 739mm wide, and 1,114mm tall.
Thoughts: The Ather 450X LR is likely to be positioned as a mid-spec offering from Ather Energy. This positioning will help the automaker bridge the gap between its top-spec and base-spec models. Thus attracting more customers.
