Lambretta Elettra: Reviving Classic With A Modern Twist!

Legendary Italian scooter manufacturer, Lambretta, has recently introduced its latest Elettra electric scooter concept at EICMA 2023, indicating a shift towards a more sustainable and electric-powered future for the company.

The new Elettra e-scooter concept bears a striking resemblance to the brand's traditional scooters, but with a distinctive neo-retro design that incorporates a number of modern elements. A highlight of this fresh design is the rear bodywork, which can be fully lifted to reveal the scooter's electric components.

Lambretta Elettra: A Blend Of Classic & Contemporary

The Lambretta Elettra electric scooter, currently only a concept, houses an 11 kW electric motor powered by a 4.6 kWh battery pack. The e-scooter stands on a steel frame, seamlessly blending nostalgia and novelty.

It sports a contemporary version of the brand's iconic design language, featuring a hexagonal LED headlamp with a daytime running light (DRL), and a spacious flat floorboard promising generous legroom.

The retro-styled floating single seat adds to the overall aesthetic of the concept. Additionally, the scooter's charging socket is conveniently placed on the right side of the panel, concealed by a slider. Other features that particularly stand out include the brake levers on the handlebar and corner indicators.

Performance & Potential

The Elettra e-scooter concept rolls on 12-inch wheels and is equipped with a trail link front suspension and a linked monoshock. The 11 kW (14.7bhp) electric motor allows the scooter to reach a top speed of 110 km/h, as claimed by the company.

According to Lambretta, the e-scooter can cover up to 127 km on a single charge in Eco mode, courtesy of the 4.6 kWh battery pack. Riders also have the option to switch between three riding modes: Eco, Ride, and Sport.

Lambretta has not yet announced a date for the launch of the Elettra as a production model. However, it is predicted to thrive in markets like Europe where electric scooters are gaining popularity.

It is expected to compete with other upcoming e-scooters, such as the Vida V1, set to hit European markets by mid-2024. Lambretta, which once had a significant presence in India, still enjoys a substantial fan base in the country.

The potential return of the Italian two-wheeler to the Indian market in its new electric form is a thrilling prospect, although the likelihood of this happening remains quite uncertain as well.

In conclusion, the Lambretta Elettra electric scooter concept signifies an electrified future for the iconic Italian brand. With its pleasing blend of traditional and modern design elements, impressive performance, and eco-friendly features, the Elettra is poised to make a significant impact in the world of electric mobility.
