Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) recently launched the Honda SP160 motorcycle in India. That being said, here are the top 5 things you need to know about the newly launched Honda SP160 motorcycle.

The newly launched Honda SP160 motorcycle is available in two variants. The base variant comes with a single-disc brake setup and it is priced at Rs 1,17,500 (ex-showroom), whereas the top-spec model with front and rear disc brakes is priced at Rs 1,21,900 (ex-showroom).

Powertrain

The new Honda SP160 motorcycle is powered by the same 162.7cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that powers the Honda Unicorn motorcycle. According to Honda, this engine has been tuned to produce 13.27bhp at 7,500rpm and 14.58Nm at 5,500rpm.

Much like the Honda Unicorn, the newly launched Honda SP160 motorcycle also comes equipped with a 5-speed gearbox. However, unlike the Honda Unicorn, the Honda SP160 motorcycle rides on 17-inch tyres.

Design

In terms of design, the new Honda SP160 motorcycle draws plenty of design inspiration from the smaller Honda SP125 motorcycle. However, these design elements have been beefed-up to suit the larger proportions of the SP160 motorcycle.

Features

Noticeable features in the new Honda SP160 motorcycle include LED headlights, LED taillamps, and fully digital instrumentation. The latter comes with features such as a speedometer, tachometer, gear position indicator, odometer, trip meter, fuel consumption, and Bluetooth connectivity.

Hardware

The new Honda SP160 uses the same diamond-type frame as the Honda Unicorn, and comes with telescopic suspension at the front, and a monoshock unit at the rear. However, unlike the Honda Unicorn, the SP160 uses 80/100 R17 tyres at the front and 130/70 R17 tyres at the rear.

In terms of braking hardware, the new Honda SP160 motorcycle uses a large 276mm petal disc brake at the front, whereas the rear features 130mm drum brakes. However, the higher-spec variant of the Honda SP160 features larger 220mm disc brakes at the rear.
