Unveiling the Honda SP160: A Dynamic Motorcycle Designed For Power, Performance, And Practicality!
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has unveiled the highly anticipated SP160, a dynamic and stylish motorcycle designed to deliver exceptional power and performance for everyday commuting needs. The motorcycle's striking tank design paired with sporty shrouds creates a powerful fusion of strength and vitality. Additionally, its aerodynamic under cowl further enhances its sporty nature.
The inclusion of bold LED headlights adds a premium touch while the distinctive LED tail lamp design gives it an exceptional identity. To enhance its sportier demeanor even further, Honda equipped the all-new SP160 with a wide rear tire measuring 130mm for improved traction during acceleration. The addition of a chrome-covered sporty muffler amplifies its stylish DNA.
At its core lies Honda's mid-size advanced 160cc Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) engine, which is OBD2 compliant and offers improved performance and unparalleled fuel efficiency. The engine features a solenoid valve that acts as an automatic choke mechanism during start-up and warm-up, providing extra air to the engine for ignition and warming up.
The Engine Control Unit (ECU) regulates the opening and closing of the solenoid valve based on factors such as engine oil temperature and intake air pressure. The advanced and efficient engine design incorporates a long stroke for additional torque and superior efficiency. With a high compression ratio of 10:1, the SP160 delivers powerful performance.
To enhance cooling capabilities while minimizing distortion of the inner cylinder, spiny sleeves have been integrated into the outer surface. The implementation of a roller rocker arm ensures seamless power delivery while reducing frictional losses.
Furthermore, Honda has included a counterweight balancer in the all-new SP160 to reduce vibrations and facilitate smooth acceleration across low rpm to high rpm range. The motorcycle features an advanced digital meter that keeps riders informed with essential information on-the-go. The meter displays details such as clock, service due indicator, gear position indicator, side stand indicator, fuel gauge, average fuel mileage, fuel consumption, and average speed.
In terms of comfort and convenience features, the all-new SP160 is equipped with single-channel ABS (Anti-lock Brake System) for enhanced braking performance on various road conditions. It prevents wheel lock-up during emergency situations or on slippery surfaces to ensure rider confidence. The petal disc brake effectively dissipates heat for improved overall braking efficiency. A combination of front and rear disc brakes provides effective braking control.
For superior riding comfort and excellent stability, Honda has incorporated a high-performance rear mono-shock suspension mounted on an advanced tough diamond frame beneath the seat. With its high ground clearance of 177mm, the SP160 prevents any contact between the engine or frame with uneven road surfaces. The longer spacious seat measuring 594mm ensures a comfortable ride for both the rider and pillion. The long wheelbase of 1347mm contributes to stability and a pleasant riding experience.
Convenience features include an engine stop switch, allowing riders to turn off the engine at signals or brief stops with the press of a button. Additionally, the hazard switch plays a critical role in emergency stops and poor visibility conditions by activating flashing indicator lights.
To provide customers with peace of mind, HMSI is offering a special warranty package for the all-new SP160, including three years as standard along with an optional extended warranty for seven years, totaling ten years of coverage.
