Hero Karizma XMR Name Trademarked – Launch, Engine & More
Hero MotoCorp has trademarked the name 'Karizma XMR', suggesting the return of the 'Karizma' nameplate after a brief hiatus. We expect this new motorcycle to be positioned as the company's flagship model in the near future.
According to leaked details, the upcoming Hero Karizma XMR will be underpinned by an all-new frame and also sport a completely new powertrain. In addition to that, this upcoming Hero model will be a fully-faired motorcycle.
That being said, the new powertrain in the upcoming Hero Karizma XMR is said to be a 210cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with around 25bhp of peak power and 30Nm of peak torque. Furthermore, this engine is expected to come with a highway-friendly 6-speed gearbox.
Recently, spy images of a fully-faired Hero motorcycle were doing rounds on the internet and a closer inspection of these images reveal interesting details such as full fairing, clip-on handlebars, rear-set foot pegs, new lightweight alloy wheels, fairing-mounted rear view mirror, telescopic front suspension, and a mono rear shock absorber.
Given this, we expect the upcoming Hero Karizma XMR to be aggressively priced to attract younger riders and we expect this upcoming new motorcycle to be launched before the end of this year and reach showrooms by the first month of the year 2024.
Also, we expect Hero MotoCorp to price the upcoming Hero Karizma XMR to be priced around Rs 1.70 lakh and compete against 180 to 200cc motorcycles in the Indian two-wheeler market.
Speaking about the Karizma, the motorcycle was introduced back in 2003 as a premium offering from Hero Honda. Later in 2007, Hero Honda re-launched the motorcycle with a few cosmetic upgrades and dubbed it as 'Karizma R'.
Two years later, Hero Honda launched the Karizma ZMR in India and this model features a full fairing and fuel injection. Despite these changes, the Karizma ZMR couldn't taste the same success as the Karizma R in the Indian market.

With the launch of the Hero Karizma XMR, the Indian two-wheeler manufacturer will not only be reintroducing an iconic nameplate back in the Indian two-wheeler market, but the company will be looking forward to capturing decent sales figures in the competing segment.
