Honda has announced an exciting offer to boost the sales of the CB300R motorcycle in India. With the introduction of this offer, the Japanese automaker is expecting to attract more potential customers to buy the new Honda CB300R motorcycle.

According to Honda, the first 1,000 customers of the Honda CB300R motorcycle will receive a helmet at no extra cost. Though a complimentary helmet may not sound exciting to many, in reality, it is a pretty good offer considering a good quality helmet does cost a lot of money.

That being said, Honda has not announced any time limit on the offer and we expect this offer to be valid till the Japanese automaker sells 1,000 CB300R motorcycles in India.

Speaking about the Honda CB300R, the neo-retro motorcycle is priced at Rs 2.40 lakh (ex-showroom). This makes the Honda CB300R a very close competitor to the Triumph Speed 400 motorcycle.

Powering the Honda CB300R is a 286cc, liquid-cooled, 4-valve, DOHC engine. This engine in the Honda CB300R is tuned to produce 30bhp at 8,000rpm and 27.4Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm.

To efficiently channel this power and torque from the engine to the rear wheels, the new Honda CB300R comes equipped with a 6-speed gearbox with Slip & Assist clutch. The latter prevents the rear wheel hop during aggressive downshifts.

In terms of specifications, the Honda CB300R may seem a little underpowered. However, in reality, the Honda CB300R is actually a pretty lightweight motorcycle, tipping scales at just 146 kilograms. This lightness significantly improves the power-to-weight ratio and handling of the motorcycle.

Coming to the hardware, the Honda CB300R uses a trellis frame, and suspension duties are handled by USD forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. In terms of braking, the model uses a dual disc brake setup measuring 296mm at the front and 220mm at the rear.
