Ducati Monster SP launched at Rs 15.95 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The Ducati Monster SP was unveiled earlier this year and is the most unhinged version of the Monster lineup powered by the 937cc L-twin engine.

The Ducati Monster SP brings with it quite a few changes compared to the 'regular' Monster in terms of both hardware and looks...

The big changes in the hardware come in the form of a new suspension setup. The front features a fully adjustable 43mm diameter Öhlins NIX USD fork finished in gold while the rear sports a fully adjustable monoshock from the same firm and a double-sided aluminium swingarm.

Braking duties are handled by twin 320mm discs at the front clamped down by Brembo Stylema monoblock four-piston callipers. The rear brake is a single 245mm disc with two-piston callipers.

The Monster SP rides on 17-inch lightweight alloy wheels shod with Pirelli's Diablo Rosso IV tyres and also features a lithium-ion battery pack along with a Termignoni-approved twin-pod slip-on exhaust.

Both the new brakes and suspension setups along with the lithium-ion battery pack and other components help the SP drop around 2 kilos compared to the regular Monster.

The engine powering the Ducati Monster SP is the same as its regular Monster and Monster Plus siblings, an 11-degree, 937cc L-twin with liquid cooling. The twin-cylinder engine pushes out 109.9bhp at 9,250rpm and 93Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm.

The L-twin engine of the Monster SP is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and a slipper clutch. The Monster SP also features a quickshifter for faster up and downshifts.

Design changes come in the form of the new 'SP' livery in Ducati Red / Racing Red / Amaranth Red / Glossy Black with the Ducati Red wheel tag. The Ducati Moster SP like the regular Monster sports a 4.3-inch TFT instrument cluster and also gets full LED lighting all around.

The Ducati Monster SP comes packed with electronic aids including three riding modes - Wet, Road and Sport - 8 levels of traction control, 4-level wheelie control, 3-level cornering ABS and a launch control system among others.

Thoughts About The Ducati Monster SP

The Ducati Monster SP turns up the madness up to 11 on the L-twin version of the Italian firm's naked motorcycle and the results at least on paper make it worth the price tag that is being demanded for it.
