BMW M 1000 R Launched in India: Combining Dynamic Roadster Characteristics with Incredible Speed
BMW Motorrad India has rolled out its all-new M 1000 R supersport M Roadster in India, which is ready for pre-booking at authorized BMW Motorrad India dealerships throughout the country. The bike will start shipping in January 2024.
"The all-new BMW M 1000 R is the second M model from BMW Motorrad. This powerful superbike pushes you to the limit with its dynamic roadster characteristics and stunning performance. Its heritage stems from M racing developers and the racetrack. It is a motorcycle built for those who are driven by passion and maximum performance, ready to dominate the road," asserted Vikram Pawah, President of BMW Group India. He added that the bike's impressive lineage can be traced back to M racing developers and the racetrack, making it ideal for ardent bikers seeking maximum speed and performance.
The new bike will be available in two models — the BMW M 1000 R at Rs. 33 Lakh and BMW M 1000 R Competition at Rs. 38 Lakh (both prices Ex-Showroom). The M 1000 R will come in Light White non-metallic / M Motorsport and the M Competition package will have a Blackstorm metallic / M Motorsport colour scheme.BMW Financial Services India has stepped in to offer custom and adaptable financial solutions to facilitate the purchase of BMW Motorrad bikes. Loan pre-approval before delivery is an available option to customers.
All BMW Motorrad motorcycles come with a standard three-year, unlimited kilometre warranty that can be extended to the fourth and fifth year. They also offer a 24x7, 365 days Road-Side Assistance package, guaranteeing swift service in the event of a breakdown or towing situation.
The M 1000 R sports a compact, sleek and aggressively sharp design. The aerodynamic M Winglets, M Carbon wheels and optimised front mudguards are the notable features. The M Competition package incorporates M Carbon wheels, M rider footrest system and other M Carbon parts.
Powered by a water-cooled 999 cc inline 4-cylinder engine, the M 1000 R generates a peak output of 212 hp at 14,500 rpm, with maximum torque of 113 Nm reached at 11,000 rpm. The bike sprints from 0-100 km in 3.2 seconds and can reach a top speed of 280 km/h.
Incorporating advanced features such as BMW ShiftCam technology and other optimized components enhances the bike's power and speed. The instrument cluster is equipped with a large, highly legible 6.5-inch TFT display, a rear USB charging socket, LED light units and more.
The M 1000 R offers five riding modes - "Rain", "Road", "Dynamic", "Race" and "Race Pro 1-3" and features a Dynamic Traction Control DTC and DTC wheelie function with 6-axis sensor box.Other enhancements include new tapes in M design on the rims, a compact number plate holder and a comfortable M Endurance seat. Numerous optional equipment and original BMW Motorcycle accessories are available for personal customization of the M 1000 R.
