Bajaj Trolls Hero MotoCorp Ahead Of Karizma XMR Launch – Here’s Everything You Need To Know
Hero Motocorp is all geared up for the launch of the all-new Hero Karizma XMR motorcycle in India. The company has high hopes for the model and it even roped in Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan to add some nostalgia factor.
On Instagram, Hrithik Roshan even shared a short clip of the iconic 'Cap-lift' advertisement featuring the OG Karizma with the message "If the whispers are true, then the moment has arrived for me to embrace the Legend once more!"
However, Bajaj has decided to take a dig at Hero Motocorp after this. As per Bajaj's latest social media posts, the company seems to have trolled Hero Motocorp's Karizma motorcycle. The social media post shows a Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle in the background with the message "THE ORIGINAL LEGEND KILLER".
Looking back in time, the Hero Honda Karizma used to be one of the most desirable motorcycles you could buy in India. However, the Karizma did not set the sales chart on fire. Later, the company launched the Karizma R, and this model was more successful.
Around the same time, Bajaj also launched the Pulsar 220-Fi. This model not only came with more features but it was a lot more powerful as well. Soon, people started gravitating towards the Pulsar range.
In response, Hero Honda responded with the Karizma ZMR. This model featured fuel injection, digital ignition, and a full fairing. The latter made the motorcycle look a size larger - Lending to a big-bike feel.
Later, Hero Motocorp launched the Karizma R in 2014, but the motorcycle did not receive much positive response from the public. Finally, the company pulled the plug on the model in 2019.
By this time, the Pulsar range had cemented its roots firmly and the Pulsar 220 series were flying off the shelf. In fact, the success of the Bajaj Pulsar 220 was so deep-rooted that Bajaj had a hard time replacing the model.
Thoughts: Hero Motocorp will soon launch the Karizma XMR motorcycle in India and the company already has high hopes for the model. That being said, if the model manages to capitalise on the gap left by the Pulsar 220, we expect Karizma XMR to be very successful in India.
