Auto Expo 2023: Suzuki Gixxer 250 Flex Fuel Motorcycle Showcased

Suzuki Motorcycles joined the flex fuel bandwagon by showcasing the Suzuki Gixxer 250 FFV flex fuel motorcycle at the Auto Expo 2023.

Diving into details, the Suzuki Gixxer 250 FFV flex fuel motorcycle has been designed to run on flex fuel. This means the Suzuki Gixxer 250 FFV flex fuel motorcycle will be able to run on a range of ethanol-based fuels (E20 to E85).

Speaking about flex fuel / ethanol-based fuel, they are usually denoted with an 'E' at the front of a two-digit numeral, where the numeric number determines the percentage of ethanol in the fuel. Eg: E20 fuel carries 20 per cent ethanol, whereas the rest of the 80 per cent of the fuel is petrol.

That being said, the Suzuki Gixxer 250 FFV flex fuel motorcycle remains very similar to the standard Suzuki Gixxer 250 motorcycle. However, the Suzuki Gixxer 250 FFV flex fuel motorcycle comes with a modified powertrain unit to make it compatible with a wide range of flex fuels.

Moreover, according to Suzuki Motorcycles, this modified 249cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine puts out 26.14bhp of peak power at 9,300rpm and 22.2Nm of peak torque at 7,300rpm. Other than that, the Suzuki Gixxer 250 FFV motorcycle continues to use the same 6-speed gearbox as the standard model.

In terms of dimensions, the Suzuki Gixxer 250 FFV motorcycle is 2,010mm long, 805mm wide, 1,035mm tall and sports a wheelbase of 1,340mm. It is also worth mentioning that the Suzuki Gixxer 250 FFV motorcycle comes with a ground clearance of 165mm and has a kerb weight of 156 kilograms.

Look at this, it is worth highlighting that the newly showcased Suzuki Gixxer 250 FFV flex fuel motorcycle remains mechanically identical to the standard motorcycle. However, much like other flex fuel motorcycles at the Auto Expo 2023, Suzuki is yet to reveal the performance and fuel efficiency figure of its flex fuel motorcycle.
