Ather 450S Electric Scooter To Be Launched Today – Check Out All Details
Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler company, Ather Energy is expected to launch the new Ather 450S electric scooter today in India. When launched, the Ather 450S electric scooter will be the automaker's entry-level model.
That being said, Ather Energy has already revealed the pricing for the new Ather 450S electric scooter. According to the EV maker, the Ather 450S electric scooter is priced at Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom). Moreover, the company has already commenced pre-bookings for the model in the country.
Speaking about the Ather 450S, the model is expected to look almost identical to other variants of the Ather 450 range of electric scooters. However, the model will feature a much simpler segmented LCD instrument cluster.
Thanks to this simpler instrument cluster, the new Ather 450S is expected to miss out on features such as a touch interface, navigation and more. However, this has allowed the company to aggressively price the Ather 450S electric scooter.
Other than the new instrument cluster, Ather has equipped the 450S electric scooter with a smaller 3kWh battery pack as well. As a result, the claimed range of the Ather 450S electric stands at just 115 kilometres on a fully charged battery pack.
It is also worth mentioning that the top speed of the Ather 450S electric scooter is rated as 90km/h. As such, we expect the new Ather 450S electric scooter to feature the same 6.2kW electric motor as the more premium Ather 450X electric scooter.
Thanks to this smaller battery pack, Ather Energy claims that the Ather 450S electric scooter can only do 115 kilometres on a fully charged battery pack. The company also claims that the model can achieve a top speed of 90km/h.
Given the same top speed figure as the Ather 450X, we expect the new Ather 450S electric scooter to feature the same 6.2kW electric motor as the more premium Ather 450X. However, we expect acceleration figures to differ due to the availability of 'Warp' mode in the Ather 450X.
