Ather 450S Electric Scooter Teased Again – Check Out All Details
Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer, Ather Energy is expected to launch the more affordable Ather 450S electric scooter on August 11. Now, ahead of the launch of the model, the EV maker has released a teaser image on social media.
Though the teaser image shows the rear section of the upcoming Ather 450S, the instrument cluster has been covered up with a hoodie. This is because the upcoming Ather 450S features a new instrument cluster.
Speaking about this new instrument cluster, the upcoming Ather 450S will feature a much simpler segmented LCD instrument cluster. Thanks to this instrument cluster, the Ather 450S will miss out on features such as a touch interface, navigation and more.
That being said, Ather Energy has already revealed the pricing for the upcoming Ather 450S electric scooter. According to the EV maker, this upcoming electric scooter is priced at Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom) and the pre-bookings for the model have already commenced in the country.
Speaking about the Ather 450S, this upcoming electric scooter is based on the company's highly successful 450 platform. However, the new 450S electric scooter will be the company's new entry-level model, as a result, it comes equipped with a smaller 3kWh battery pack.
Thanks to this smaller battery pack, Ather Energy claims that the Ather 450S electric scooter can only do 115 kilometres on a fully charged battery pack. The company also claims that the model can achieve a top speed of 90km/h.
Given the same top speed figure as the Ather 450X, we expect the new Ather 450S electric scooter to feature the same 6.2kW electric motor as the more premium Ather 450X. However, acceleration figures are likely to differ due to the availability of 'Warp' mode in the Ather 450X.
It is worth mentioning that the design of the new Ather 450S electric scooter remains almost identical to the Ather 450X electric scooter. However, the new model is likely to replace some premium bits with more conventional components.

With the launch of the new more affordable variant of the Ather 450 range of electric scooters, Ather Energy is expected to attract more customers. This increased attention could help improve the overall sales figures of the EV maker.
