Ather 450S Deliveries Commence In India – Eyeing On Sales Push During The Festive Season
Ather Energy commenced the deliveries of the newly launched Ather 450S electric scooter in India. This new electric scooter is a lot more affordable than the Ather 450X electric scooter and it is priced at Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom).
Speaking about the Ather 450S, this new electric scooter comes equipped with a smaller 2.9kWh battery pack. However, despite the smaller battery pack, the certified range of the model stands at 115 kilometres.
That being said, the new Ather 450S electric scooter is propelled by a s a PMSM electric motor with 7.24bhp and 22Nm of peak torque, which is slightly lesser than the Ather 450X electric scooter.
Moreover, the performance figures of the Ather 450S electric scooter are almost similar to the range-topping Ather 450X electric scooter with 40km/h sprint taking just 3.9 seconds. Furthermore, the top speed of the model is rated at 90km/h.
One of the distinct features of the new Ather 450S electric scooter is its new DeepView display, which is basically a very power-efficient segmented display. According to Ather Energy, this new display has 20X higher contrast and 4X more segments than any other segmented display currently available in the market.
Thanks to this new display, the Ather 450S no longer comes with a touch-based interface. As a result, the menus are now navigated using a new 5-way switch. That being said, the 450S electric scooter is not a Spartan either and comes equipped with a lot of tech.
In fact, the new Ather 450S electric scooter comes equipped with features such as turn-by-turn navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, multiple ride modes, park assist, auto hold, fall safe, coasting regen, emergency stop signal (ESS) and much more.
Thoughts: With the launch of the new more affordable base variant, Ather Energy will be able to attract more customers, which could help the EV maker further capitalise on the sales push achieved during the festive season by attracting more customers.
On top of that, the new Ather 450S electric scooter is also expected to attract more customers with its affordable price tag. Also, the performance of the new Ather 450S is not very compromised compared to the top-spec Ather 450X electric scooter.
