Raucous Aprilia RS 457 Revealed - Made In India For The World
Italian motorcycle manufacturer Aprilia has revealed the all-new RS 457 faired motorcycle at the Misano racetrack in Italy ahead of the San Marino Moto GP race.
The brand-new Aprilia RS 457 was developed and designed at the firm's headquarters in Noale, Italy. The faired motorcycle which sits between the RS 125 and RS 660 in Aprilia's lineup will be manufactured at the firm's Baramati facility in Maharashtra, India.
Powering the Aprilia RS 457 is an all-new liquid-cooled, DOHC, parallel twin engine (displacement still has not been revealed) that pushes out 47bhp. Thanks to the kerb weight of 157 kilogrammes, the RS 457 has a power-to-weight ratio of nearly 300bhp/tonne.
The Aprilia RS 457's engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox which can be paired with an optional up/down quickshifter. The RS 457's engine acts as a stressed member and is housed in an aluminium frame.
Suspension duties on the Aprilia RS 457 are handled by a 41 mm USD front fork providing 120 mm of travel and a rear monoshock with a steel swingarm offering 130 mm of wheel travel. Both front and rear suspension offer preload adjustability.
Braking duties on the Aprilia RS 457 are handled by a 320mm disc at the front with four-piston Bybre radial callipers. At the rear, the bike sports a 220mm disc with a single piston calliper from Bybre providing the clamping force.
The Aprilia RS 457 rides on 17-inch alloy wheels shod with 110/70-17 (front) and 150/60-17 (rear) tyres. The exhaust is a two-into-one underbelly unit and the RS 457 also gets a 5-inch TFT display, clip-on handlebars, ride-by-wire and three riding modes.

Thoughts About The Aprilia RS 457
The Aprilia RS 457 will be built in India which is also expected to be one of its first launch markets. Once it hits our roads, the RS 457 will be hunting down KTM RC 390 for their lunch money. Be afraid you orange maniacs. Be very afraid.
