Aprilia RS 457 India Launch Date Revealed - IBW Launch For Italian Racer
Italian motorcycle manufacturer Aprilia has revealed the launch date for its RS 457 sports bike. The Italian firm revealed on its social platforms that the price for the Aprilia RS 457 will be revealed on 8th December at India Bike Week.
The Aprilia RS 457 was revealed earlier this year in September at the Misano racetrack ahead of the San Marino Grand Prix, MotoGP race. Built at Aprilia's production facility in Baramati, Maharashtra, the Aprilia RS 457 is already on sale in the United States and Canada.
In terms of design, Aprilia RS 457 looks quite similar to its larger siblings, the middleweight RS 660 and the litre-class RSv4. The fully-faired RS 457 motorcycle looks rather racy, even standing still with its fully faired front end and side panels with their mostly black paint scheme.
At the front, the RS 457 sports triple LED headlamps, and a rather short visor. Also seen is a set of clip-on handlebars ahead of which sits the digital display for the instrumentation that also supports Bluetooth connectivity.
Powering the Aprilia RS 457 is a 457cc, parallel-twin engine. The liquid-cooled, dual-overhead camshaft engine pushes out 47bhp which is sent to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox aided by a quickshifter. With a dry weight of just 350lbs (158.7kg), the RS 457 has a power-to-weight ratio of 296bhp/tonne.
The Aprilia RS 457 sports a twin-spar aluminium frame setup suspended on a 41mm USD fork at the front that offers 120mm of wheel travel and a monoshock at the rear that works in tandem with a steel swingarm and 130mm of travel. Both the front and rear suspension units offer preload adjustment.
The Aprilia RS 457 rides on 17-inch alloy wheels. These sporty wheels come mounted with 110/70 (front) and 150/60 (rear) tyres. Braking duties are handled by discs at both ends, though details about the size or the callipers clamping them down are still scarce.
The Aprilia RS 457 comes with multiple riding modes and a three-way traction control system that helps the rider keep control of this middleweight monster. The Aprilia RS 457 has three colour options - Prismatic Dark, Opalescent Light and Racing Stripes.
