Aprilia RS 457 Launch Soon – Here's Everything We Know So Far
Aprilia recently revealed the all-new Aprilia RS 457 motorcycle in India ahead of the MotoGP Bharat. The middle-weigh sportbike was unveiled in the presence of Aprilia's MotoGP racers Maverick Vinales and Aleix Espargaro.
That being said, Aprilia is yet to announce the pricing of the upcoming Aprilia RS 457 motorcycle. However, we expect this upcoming motorcycle to be relatively affordable as the model will be manufactured locally at the Baramati plant in Maharashtra.
According to Aprilia, the company is aiming to make the Aprilia RS 457 available in Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities in India. It is also said that the new Aprilia RS 457 motorcycle will come with many locally sourced parts including tyres.
As such, we expect the upcoming Aprilia RS 457 motorcycle to be positioned in between the KTM RC 390 motorcycle (Rs 3.18 lakh, ex-showroom), and the Kawasaki Ninja 400 motorcycle (Rs 5.19 lakh, ex-showroom).
Speaking about the Aprilia RS 457, the upcoming motorcycle features a 457cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with a 270-degree crank. This engine according to Aprilia produces 47bhp and comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with Slip & Assist clutch.
Thanks to the 270-degree crank, we expect the Aprilia RS 457 motorcycle's powertrain to be refined yet have a distinct exhaust note. Also, noticeable hardware bits include adjustable USD forks, monoshock, aluminium swingarm and more.
In terms of braking, the Aprilia RS 457 motorcycle uses 320mm disc brake at the front and 220mm disc brake at the rear. The model also uses 110/60 R17 tyres at the front, and 150/60 R17 tyres at the rear.
Standout features on the upcoming Aprilia RS 457 motorcycle include a 5.0-inch digital display, backlit switchgear, ride-by-wire tech, 3-level traction control system, QuickShifter, all-led lighting technology, dual-channel ABS and many more.
Thoughts About The Upcoming Aprilia RS 457 Motorcycle
We expect the Aprilia RS 457 motorcycle to be launched very soon in the Indian market. Though the motorcycle won't break any sales records, we do expect the model to be a crucial product to help the automaker establish itself as a top-tier motorcycle manufacturer.
That being said, the Aprilia 457 motorcycle will further open the middle-weight sport motorcycle segment in India. This is really exciting as the launch of the Aprilia RS 457 will push other two-wheeler manufacturers to launch more sport motorcycles in the country.
