2024 KTM 390 Duke Motorcycle Launched At Rs 3.11 Lakh – New Powertrain, Suspension & More
KTM launched the new 390 Duke motorcycle in India at Rs 3.11 lakh (ex-showroom). This new motorcycle sports some significant changes compared to its predecessor including an all-new powertrain system.
In fact, the latest iteration of the 390 Duke motorcycle boasts the biggest update from the Austrian manufacturer since the introduction of the model back in 2013. Other updates other than the design and powertrain include a new chassis and sub-frame as well.

Coming to the powertrain, the newly launched 2024 KTM 390 Duke motorcycle has ditched the old 373cc, single-cylinder, DOHC, liquid-cooled engine in favour of a bigger 399cc, single-cylinder, DOHC, liquid-cooled engine.
This new 399cc engine sports a longer stroke at 64mm. However, the bore is identical to its predecessor at 89mm. Thanks to its longer stroke, the new engine produces more power and torque at lower rpm.

In terms of figures, the new 399cc engine in the 2024 KTM 390 Duke produces 45.37bhp at 8,500rpm and 39Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. In comparison, the previous generation 390 Duke produced 42.9bhp @9,000rpm and 37Nm of torque at 7,000rpm.
Coming to the suspension, the newly launched KTM 390 Duke motorcycle now features rebound-adjustment setup along with pre-load adjustment. This enables the users to fine-tune the suspension setup according to their respective preferences. That being said, the front end continues to feature USD forks, whereas the rear features mono suspension.

Coming to the design, the new KTM 390 Duke motorcycle looks much more substantial and muscular with its larger tank shrouds. On top of that, the rear section features faux outlets, which further aid the bulkiness. It is also worth mentioning that the underbelly exhaust also marks its return.
Thoughts: With the launch of the new KTM 390 Duke motorcycle, KTM intends to further stretch the performance bar of its motorcycle and attract more customers to its brand during this festive season.
Also, at Rs 3.11 lakh (ex-showroom), the 2023 KTM 390 Duke motorcycle offers fantastic performance and hardware given its pricing. Moreover, the updated powertrain is also likely to make the motorcycle more tractable in lower speeds.
