2024 KTM 250 Duke Motorcycle Launched At Rs 2.39 Lakh – Uprated Powertrain, New Design & More

KTM launched the new 250 Duke motorcycle in India at Rs 2.39 lakh (ex-showroom). This new 2024 KTM 250 Duke motorcycle features significant upgrades compared to the older model including a new chassis and sub-frame.

Looking into the details of the newly launched 2024 KTM 250 Duke, the motorcycle continues to be powered by the same 249cc, single-cylinder, DOHC, liquid-cooled engine as its predecessor. However, the engine now puts out 30.57bhp at 9,250rpm and 25Nm of torque at 7,250rpm.

In comparison, the 249cc, single-cylinder, DOHC, liquid-cooled engine in the previous version produces just 29.58bhp at 9,000rpm and 24Nm of torque at 7,500rpm. This means the updated powertrain puts out approximately 1bhp and 1Nm more torque than the previous model.

It is also worth mentioning that the engine characteristic of the new 2024 KTM 250 Duke motorcycle is different to its predecessor with different power and torque curve. The new model not only produces more peak power at a higher rpm, but the peak torque is generated at lower rpm.

Thanks to the new chassis, the kerb weight of the 2024 KTM 250 Duke motorcycle is also lower than its predecessor at just 163 kilogrammes. In comparison, the older model weighed 8 kilogrammes more at 171 kilogrammes. As a result, power-to-weight ratio is up from 178PS/ton to 190PS/ton.

That being said, the new 2024 KTM 250 Duke motorcycle also marks the return of the underbelly exhaust. However, despite the positioning of the exhaust, the ground clearance of the model has increased by 25mm to 171mm.

Coming to the design, the new KTM 250 Duke motorcycle looks much more substantial and muscular with its larger tank shrouds. On top of that, the rear section features faux outlets, which further aid the bulkiness.

Thoughts: With the launch of the new KTM 250 Duke motorcycle, KTM intends to attract more customers to its brand during this festive season. Also, at Rs 2.39 lakh (ex-showroom), the 2023 KTM 250 Duke motorcycle is approximately Rs 4,000 cheaper than the TVS Apache RTR 310 motorcycle.
