2022 Yamaha MT-15 Specs & New Features

The 2022 Yamaha MT-15 retains the same powertrain as its predecessor. The MT-15 naked streetfighter is powered by a liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 4-valve, 155cc fuel-injected engine with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) system that produces 18.1bhp at 10,000rpm and 14.Nm of peak torque at 7,500rpm. The engine is paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox with slipper and assist clutch functionality.

The MT-15 V2.0 features Yamaha's Delta box frame with brand new 37mm inverted front forks up at the front and a mono-shock at the rear to take care of the rough stuff.

Braking duties are handled by a 282mm disc at the front and a 220mm unit at the rear that are aided by single-channel ABS. The 2022 Yamaha MT-15 rides on 17-inch wheels shod with 100/80-17M/C (front) and 140/70R17 tubeless tyres.

Also new on the 2022 Yamaha MT-15 is a new, fully digital LCD cluster that displays a customizable animated text whenever the ignition is turned on.

The new display features gear shift, gear position and VVA indicators. The new display supports Call, E-mail and SMS Alerts along with Smartphone battery status available through the Bluetooth enabled Y-Connect App.

With the help of the Y-Connect App, owners can get information about maintenance recommendations, parking location, fuel consumption, malfunctions and other data points with regard to the new MT-15 V2.0.

With regards to the design, Yamaha hasn't tweaked with the main design points of the MT-15 but it has given the naked streetfighter a new set of graphics that add to its aggressive looks. Also new for the 2022 MT-15 from Yamaha are two new colour options - Cyan Storm and Racing Blue. The two new colours join Ice Fluo-Vermillion and Metallic Black to make up the entire colour pallet on offer with the Yamaha MT-15 V2.0.
