Yamaha Aerox Gets New Shades – Looks More Youthful
Yamaha recently launched the Aerox 155 maxi-scooter in India, and the model has gained decent momentum among youngsters in the country. Now, Yamaha Indonesia has updated its Aerox 155 maxi-scooter lineup with new colour options to further improve its sales among the younger demographic.

At present, the Yamaha Aerox 155 maxi-scooter is available in 4 different colour options in India and includes colour options such as Racing Blue, Metallic Black, Grey Vermillion, and Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition.

However, the Aerox 155 maxi-scooter in Indonesia gets 8 different colour options, including the recently introduced new colour options as well. These newly introduced colour options make the Yamaha Aerox maxi-scooter look a lot more sporty and youthful.

Diving into the details, the standard variant of the Yamaha Aerox 155 scooter in Indonesia comes in Cyan Silver, Metallic Red, Yellow Blue, and Black Silver. Out of these, the Yellow Blue colour option gets blue-coloured front wheels and yellow-coloured rear wheels, whereas the Cyan Silver gets vibrant-looking cyan-coloured wheels at both ends of the maxi-scooter.

However, out of these colour options, the Metallic Red and Black Silver colour options get gloss black alloy wheels as standard. In terms of pricing, the standard variant of the Yamaha Aerox 155 maxi-scooter is priced at Rp 2,70,75,000, which roughly converts into Rs 1.42 lakhs.

On the other hand, the CyberCity colour option gets special-looking red-coloured wheels, colour gradients and sporty graphics. Though a minor cosmetic change, the visual enhancement is noticeable and makes the already sporty maxi-scooter look even more sporty. However, this model of the Yamaha Aerox 155 maxi-scooter is also slightly more expensive at Rs 2,72,75,000, which approximately translates to Rs 1.44 lakh.

Next in the variant list is the ABS version of the Yamaha Aerox 155 maxi-scooter. This variant of the maxi-scooter is available in two colour options - Maxi Signature Black and Prestige Silver. However, these colour options do look pretty similar to the standard colour option albeit with more premium-looking bronze and gold highlights. Moreover, the ABS version of the Yamaha Aerox 155 is also slightly more expensive at Rp 3,06,05,000, which roughly translates to Rs 1.62 lakh.

Coming to the top-spec variant, the Yamaha maxi-scooter features the World GP 60th Anniversary Livery which apparently uses multiple shades of white, red, yellow, and black colour options. On top of that, the top-spec Yamaha Aerox 155 World GP 60th Anniversary Edition comes with a Gold finish on the alloy wheels and rear suspension canisters. This variant of the Yamaha Aerox 155 maxi-scooter is priced at Rs 3,11,10,000, which is approximately Rs 1.65 lakh.

Mechanically, the Yamaha Aerox 155 maxi-scooter remains pretty much identical since its launch. This means the maxi-scooter continues to be powered by the same 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with fuel injection and VVA. This engine produces 14.75bhp of peak power at 8,000rpm and 13.9Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. Moreover, the power is sent to the rear wheels via a CVT gearbox.

In terms of features, the Yamaha Aerox 155 comes with features such as ABS, 14-inch wheels, a wide 140mm rear tyre, 5.8-inch LCD Instrument Cluster, LED headlights, LED taillights, an external fuel lid and a few more. It is also worth mentioning that the Yamaha Aerox 155 is a spacious scooter with a 24.5-litre underseat storage capacity.

Thoughts About The New Colour Options On The Yamaha Aerox 155 Maxi-Scooter
The new colour options do make the Yamaha Aerox 155 a lot more vibrant and the new colours are likely to attract more youngsters. However, we are not sure if these colour options will make their way to India.
