Ultraviolette F77 Launched At Rs 3.8 Lakh - 307km Range, Two Variants

Bangalore-based EV startup Ultraviolette Automotive has launched the all-new F77 electric motorcycle in India. Prices for the Ultraviolette F77 start at Rs 3.8 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Ultraviolette F77 is offered in two basic guises. The F77 is priced at Rs 3.8 lakh while the F77 Recon with the larger battery pack is priced at Rs 4.55 lakh (all prices are ex-showroom).

Ultraviolette recently revealed details about the F77's battery pack at its Battery Day event last month. The production-spec Ultraviolette F77 sports a much larger battery pack that also features a denser 21,700-cell setup compared to the prototype revealed a few years ago.

The production-spec Ultraviolette F77 Recon draws power from a 10.3kWh battery that the EV startup claims is the largest battery pack on a motorcycle in India today. The battery can deliver a range of up to 307 kilometres on a single charge (IDC).

The regular F77 uses a 7.1kWh battery pack that delivers a range of 206 kilometres on a single charge. The regular F77 sports the second largest battery pack fitted to a motorcycle in India.

Ultraviolette also revealed a limited edition version of the F77 called F77 Limited. This version is limited to just 77 units and gets the 30.2kW (40.49bhp) and 100Nm of peak torque.

There are two charging options - standard charging and boost charging. Standard charging adds a range of 35 kilometres every hour while boost charging ups that to 75km/hour. The Ultraviolette F77 can plug into a 15A plug point for charging up its battery pack.

The Ultraviolette F77 Recon is powered by a single electric motor that delivers 29kW (38.88bhp) and 95Nm of peak torque. The entry-level F77 variant is slightly less powerful with 27kW (36.2bhp) and 85Nm of torque.

0 to 60km/h on the F77 Recon takes 2.9 seconds while 100km/h comes up in 7.8 seconds on the Ultraviolette F77. The electric sports bike has a top speed in excess of 150km/h. The F77 features three riding modes Glide, Combat and Ballistic.

Ultraviolette F77 Design & Features

The Ultraviolette F77 sports a faired design which looks quite futuristic. At the Ultra-V lighting signature of the headlight gives the bike a very distinct and aggressive look.

The bike also sports some very wide handlebars to help it deal with the torque from the electric motor. The streamlined shape of the bike looks rather nice and the low seat and high handlebars allow for riding ease on both the track and the street.

The F77 sports disc brakes on both wheels along with some snazzy alloy wheels and split LED taillights. The F77 is offered in three colourways - Airstrike (White and Black), Shadow (Black) and Laser (Red and Black).

Thoughts About The Ultraviolette F77

The Ultraviolette F77 is an all-electric sports bike that promises ample amounts of power and torque and a range that matches that from a similarly priced ICE bike. That price tag though will ensure that the F77 will be something you see not very often as it zips past you at speed.
