TVS Teases New Motorcycle Launch For July 6 - Zeppelin Or Naked RR 310?
Chennai-based two-wheeler manufacturer TVS has teased the arrival of a new motorcycle on the 6th of July.
Chennai-based two-wheeler manufacturer TVS Motor Company has teased the arrival of a brand new motorcycle on the 6th of July.
No details have emerged about the upcoming motorcycle but rumours as well TVS hashtag claiming that the new bike will herald a new way of life suggest that this could very well be the rumoured Zeppelin cruiser.
The TVS Zeppelin cruiser motorcycle was first seen in concept guise at Auto Expo 2018. The Zeppelin concept featured a hybrid powertrain with a 220cc single-cylinder engine with around 20bhp and 22.5Nm of torque on tap assisted by a 1,200W regen assist motor for quick burst of torque and a integrated starter generator system. The TVS Zeppelin cruiser featured a claimed top speed of 130km/h.
If this concept cruiser bike has reached production then TVS has been very closed lipped about any details till now. We are not sure if the hybrid powertrain seen on the Zeppelin concept has made it down to the production model. If it hasn't, TVS could very well shoehorn an engine from its Apache lineup into the cruiser. The cruiser motorcycle could bear the TVS Zeppelin R nametag, which is a name TVS trademarked two years back.
Speaking about the Apache, the other contender doing the rounds for the new bike arriving on the 6th of July seems to be the long rumored naked version of the TVS Apache RR 310. With BMW bringing its own take on the RR310 to the market next month, it would come as no surprise if TVS decided to bring their own version of the G 310 R naked into the Indian market.
If the new bike is the naked version of the RR 310, then expect it to sport of host of features introduced by the faired motorcycle in the segment. These features include different ride modes, and bluetooth connectivity among others. If the new bike is indeed the naked RR 310, expect TVS to extend its Build To Order program to it as well.
The TVS Build To Order program allows RR 310 owners to get a fully customised version of their bike directly from the factory. The Build TO Order program allows for upgrades like the fully adjustable front and rear suspension setup from KYB, a brass coated anti-rust drive chain along with lower set handlebars, and race-designed footpegs which sit on a raised assembly. Build To Order customers can also add a few cosmetic flourishes including race replica graphics and a personalised race number.
Thoughts On The Upcoming TVS Motorcycle
TVS looks to be in launch season now and its new bike seems to be shrouded in mystery. Is this the all-new Zepplin or the naked RTR cousin to the RR 310, we hope to find out as the launch date of July 6th draws closer.
