TVS iQube Production Reaches Almost 5k Units - Automaker Aims 30 Per Cent Market Share

While there are many reasons for the increased popularity of the TVS iQube electric scooter, one of which is the newly added variants. This gives customers more options to choose according to their requirements. In addition to that, even the basic variant now comes with more range at similar pricing.

It is also worth mentioning that the recent fire incidents related to electric scooters have influenced electric scooter customers to rethink their buying decision and pushed them to buy electric scooters from reputed two-wheeler manufacturers for added safety.

While all these reasons helped TVS acquire new customers, the rising fuel prices have also pushed a decent number of customers to opt for electric scooters as their preferred choice of commute.

In fact, TVS was very keen on developing the EV space and the company has already invested Rs 1,000 crore last year. Following the success, TVS is now looking forward to investing another Rs 1,000 crore this year to develop new products and further expansion.

In June 2022, TVS manufactured 4,667 units of 2022 iQube electric scooters, which is 2,030 units more than what the company managed to manufacture in May 2022, resulting in an almost 77 per cent increase in production. Also, TVS is aiming to increase production by more than 20k units per month by the end of this year.

Speaking about the 2022 TVS iQube, the latest iteration of the electric scooter looks identical to the previous version. However, the TVS iQube S and TVS iQube ST variants do sport minor differences in terms of the visor design to accommodate the slightly larger touchscreen instrument cluster.

As we know that electric scooters come packed with tech, and the 2022 TVS iQube electric scooter is no different. It comes packed with features such as LED headlamps, TVS SmartXonnect connectivity with App-based interaction, telescopic front suspension, front disc brakes, LED tail lamps, a 7-inch TFT touchscreen display, multiple ride modes, reverse mode, and a lot more.

However, the biggest upgrade in the 2022 TVS iQube is its uprated battery pack. Both the TVS iQube and the TVS iQube S now sport a larger 3.4kWh battery pack instead of the 2.2kWh battery pack in the previous iteration. With this larger battery pack, TVS iQube S can cover 100kms on a full charge.

On the other hand, the top-end TVS iQube ST variant sports a much bigger 5.1kWh battery pack. This model also comes with an additional 'Power' mode and can do 140kms on a full charge.

Thoughts About TVS' Plans To Increase Production Of iQube Electric Scooter

Given the increased demand for electric scooters and the fact that TVS has an outstanding electric scooter, this is the right time to increase production of iQube electric scooter in the country.
