Top-Spec TVS Raider 125 SmartXonnect Launched At Rs 99,900 - 5 Inch TFT Display, Bluetooth & More
TVS Motor has finally launched the top-spec variant of the Radier 125 motorcycle with the 5-inch TFT display and SmartXonnect Bluetooth connectivity. This new variant is now priced at Rs 99,900 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Though TVS had mentioned about the top-spec Raider 125 motorcycle with SmartXonnect connectivity, the launch of the model was delayed due to the ongoing semiconductor shortage. As such, the launch of a tech-loaded motorcycle was not feasible at a time when the semiconductor shortage was at its peak.
Speaking about the newly launched TVS Raider 125 SmartXonnect, the motorcycle comes with features such as turn-by-turn navigation, voice commands, call alerts, message notifications, and music control. In addition to these features, the newly launched motorcycle also features two riding modes - ECO and Power.
Moreover, the large 5-inch TFT screen gives the user plenty of information including low battery alert, service reminder, gear position indicator, ideal gear shift, top speed recorder, distance to empty (DTE), and average fuel efficiency. It is also worth mentioning that the TVS Raider 125 motorcycle gets IntelliGO silent engine start system.
Though TVS has introduced new features on the Raider 125 motorcycle, the model does not sport any mechanical changes. As such, the TVS Raider 125 SmartXonnect weighs an identical 123 kilograms as its other previously launched variants.
In terms of powertrain, the motorcycle continues to draw its power from the company's tried-and-tested, 124.8cc, single-cylinder, SOHC engine. This engine is capable of producing 11.2bhp of peak power at 7,500rpm and 11.2Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm. In addition to that, the engine sends the produced power and torque to the rear wheels via a 5-speed gearbox. Thanks to this powertrain setup TVS Motor claims that the motorcycle can sprint from a standstill to 60km/h in just 5.9 seconds.
In terms of suspension hardware, the TVS Raider 125 SmartXonnect comes with a telescopic suspension at the front, and a 5-step adjustable monoshock at the rear. In terms of braking, the newly launched TVS motorcycle sports a large 240mm single disc at the front and a 130mm drum brake at the rear. Moreover, the TVS Raider 125 sports a large-enough 10-litre fuel tank.
That being said, the newly launched TVS Raider 125 SmartXonnect does not feature any other visual changes other than a large 5-inch TFT display. In addition to that, the motorcycle is available in two colour options - Black, and Yellow.
At present, prices for the TVS Raider 125 starts from Rs 85,973 (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base 'Drum' variant, whereas the 'Disc' variant is priced at Rs 93,489 (ex-showroom, Delhi). This makes the new TVS Raider 125 SmartXonnect reasonably more expensive and the premium is well worth the additional features the motorcycle offers.
Thoughts About The Newly Launched TVS Raider 125 SmartXonnect Motorcycle
Though the new TVS Raider 125 SmartXonnect motorcycle comes with an updated full-colour TFT display with a lot of new features, the company has priced the motorcycle at a reasonable premium. As such, we expect this motorcycle to sell well in tier 1 and tier 2 cities.
