Top 5 Things About The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650
Royal Enfield has finally revealed the much-awaited Super Meteor 650 motorcycle at the EICMA 2022 and here are the top 5 things about the upcoming 650cc cruiser motorcycle.
Design
One of the USPs of the new Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 motorcycle is its design. The Cruiser motorcycle looks very premium and the motorcycle could be easily mistaken for something American by an untrained eye.
Diving into details, the large 15.8-litre fuel tank, the beefy-looking USD forks, sculpted rider seats and the chunky 16-inch wheels make the Super Meteor 650 motorcycle look quite muscular. On top of that, the motorcycle also features many premium bits, which really uplift the road presence of the motorcycle.
Engine & Gearbox
Powering the new Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 motorcycle is the same 648cc, parallel-twin petrol engine that powers the likes of the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Royal Enfield Continental GT650 motorcycles.
This engine produces 46.3bhp of peak power at 7,250rpm and 52.3Nm of peak torque at 5,650rpm, which is plenty of oomph for a motorcycle of this category. On top of that, the torquey nature of the engine ensures effortless cruising ability - Suiting the character of the Super Meteor 650.
Speaking about long-distance cruising, the new Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 motorcycle comes equipped with a 6-speed gearbox. However, we are not sure if Roya Enfield has re-tuned the gearbox to better suit the characteristics of the cruiser motorcycle.
Chassis & Suspension
In order to make the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 motorcycle, the company had to make more than a few changes to the existing 650cc motorcycle platform that underpins the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Royal Enfield Continental GT650 motorcycles.
Thanks to these changes, the new Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 motorcycle sports a low seat height of just 740mm, making it easy for shorter riders to ride the 650cc cruiser motorcycle. Apart from that, Royal Enfield has also given the Super Meteor 650 motorcycle more sophisticated USD forks at the front, whereas the rear sports very neat-looking twin shocks. All these changes result in an increased weight of 241 kilograms (with 90 per cent fuel and oil).
Features
When launched, the new Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 motorcycle will be the two-wheeler manufacturer's new flagship motorcycle. As such, Royal Enfield has equipped the Super Meteor 650 very well with features such as all-LED lighting, part digital part analogue instrument cluster, Tripper navigation system, dual-channel ABS, USD forks, and a few more.
It is worth mentioning that the new Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 motorcycle is the first Royal Enfield motorcycle to sport LED headlights. We expect this LED headlight to be equipped on the upcoming updated versions of the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Royal Enfield Continental GT650 motorcycles.
Tyres & Brakes
The new Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 motorcycle comes equipped with a 19-inch wheel shod with a 100/90 -19M/C 57H tubeless tyre at the front and a smaller 16-inch wheel shod with 150/80 B16 M/C 71H tubeless tyre at the rear.
In terms of braking, Royal Enfield has equipped the Super Meteor 650 motorcycle with a large 320mm disc at the front and an unusually large 300mm disc at the rear, both of which are grabbed by 2 piston calipers.
Thoughts About Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 Cruiser Motorcycle
With the launch of the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 cruiser motorcycle, the company will be not only able to attract a lot of customers to its dealerships across the country, but it will also allow Royal Enfield to explore newer international markets, which are mostly dominated by Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
