The Honda Activa continued to be the best selling scooter in the country though overall sales fell once again. The Activa, TVS Jupiter and Suzuki Access were the top 3 bestselling scooters in the country last month.

Taking just the top 10 scooters in terms of year-over-year sales numbers we see a drop of nearly 24 per cent. Every scooter on the list excluding the newly launched Suzuki Avenis along with the Suzuki Burgman and TVS Scooty Pep+ all saw a drop in sales numbers. Month-over-month sales of the top 10 scooters also dropped by 0.55 per cent compared to January 2022.

1. Honda Activa
The bestselling scooter in India in February 2022 was the same as it has been for quite a while now - the Honda Activa. Honda sold 145,317 units of the Activa in February 2022 which was a drop of 30 per cent compared to sales numbers from the same month last year. In February 2021, Honda had sold 209,389 units of the Activa. Month-over-month sales rose by 1.45 per cent.

2. TVS Jupiter
In second place in terms of scooter sales numbers in February 2022 was the TVS Jupiter. TVS sold 47,092 units of the Jupiter scooter in February 2022 which was 5,097 units less than the sales numbers from the same month last year. TVS had sold 52,189 units of the Jupiter in Feb 2021. Year-over-year sales of the TVS Jupiter dropped by 9.77 per cent. Month-over-month sales by 8.32 per cent.

3. Suzuki Access
In third place was the Suzuki Access. Suzuki sold 37,512 units of the Access in February 2022, a drop of 22.65 per cent in sales numbers compared to the same month last year. Suzuki had sold 52,189 units of the Access in February 2021. Month-over-month sales also dropped by 11 per cent.

4. TVS NTorq
In fourth place in terms of scooter sales was the TVS NTorq. TVS sold 23,061 units of the sporty NTorq scooter in February 2022 which was a drop of just over 6 per cent year-over-year. TVS sold 24,555 units of the Ntorq last February. Month-over-month sales though rose by 9.19 per cent.

5. Honda Dio
The fifth best selling scooter in the month of February 2022 was the Honda Dio. The Dio faced the worst drop in terms of percentage number selling just 15,847 units in Feb 2022, a loss of 45 per cent compared to the same month last year. In Feb 2021, Honda had sold 28,171 units of the Dio. Dio month-over-month sales also dropped by 44.37 per cent.

The Other 5
In sixth place was the Hero Pleasure which saw sales drop by 38.5 per cent to 14,207 units. Hero had sold 23,106 units of the Pleasure in Feb 2021. Month-over-month sales rose by 7.67 per cent.

In seventh place was the new Suzuki Avenis which saw 10,382 units exit showrooms onto the streets. The Avenis was launched in January and compared to the first month of the year Avenis sales rose sharply in February 2022 by 64.43 per cent.

In eighth place is the Suzuki Burgman. Suzuki sold 8,636 units of the Burgman in February 2022, an increase of 103 compared to Feb 2021 sales numbers of 8,533. Month-over-month sales though dropped by 9.13 per cent.

In ninth place was Yamaha's RayZR with sales numbers of 8,355 units in Feb 22. Compared to the same month, RayZR sales numbers dropped by nearly 40 per cent. Month-over-month sales numbers though rose by nearly 19 per cent.

Occupying the final place in this list is the TVS Scooty Pep+. TVS sold 6,695 units of the Pep+ in Feb 22, a drop of just over 21 per cent in year-over-year sales figures. Month-over-month sales though were up by nearly 45 per cent compared to January.

Thoughts On the Top 10 Bestselling Scooters In Feb 2022
While month-over-month sales have risen in many cases in this list, overall sales numbers are down in terms of both monthly and yearly comparisons. However, with the country opening up again, we expect numbers to slowly and steadily increase once again.
