The 11-second teaser shows two motorcycles going through a forest and also reveals the outskirts of a city. This means the upcoming adventure motorcycle from Suzuki could also be designed with city commute in mind.

Though this motorcycle could be named as 'Suzuki V-Storm 250' in India, the upcoming motorcycle is highly unlikely to be the one sold in the overseas market.

The overseas model of the Suzuki V-Storm 250 is also called Suzuki DL250 AL and Suzuki DL250 AM. This motorcycle is currently manufactured in China since 2017 and it is designed to compete with other adventure motorcycles such as BMW G310R and Kawasaki Versys 300.

Though this motorcycle may seem very ideal for the Indian market, this particular model uses a parallel-twin cylinder engine from the Suzuki Inazuma 250. This configuration will make the motorcycle highly expensive to manufacture in India.

Apart from that, this engine in the current overseas model produces just 24bhp of peak power and 22Nm of peak torque, which is less than what the Suzuki Gixxer 250 in India with its single-cylinder engine.

Speaking about the Suzuki Gixxer 250, Suzuki anoraks can easily identify that the engine cover on the teased motorcycle is identical to the one on the Suzuki Gixxer 250 models sold in India.

This means the upcoming adventure motorcycle from Suzuki will use the same 249cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected, BS6 compliant engine from the Suzuki Gixxer 250.

At present, this engine produces 26.5bhp of peak power and 22.2Nm of peak torque. However, we are not sure whether Suzuki will re-tune this engine for better low-end grunt and sacrifice the peak power output.

This would be unlikely as it would again increase the development cost of the motorcycle and this cost will be reflected in the final pricing. Another interesting detail revealed in the teaser was the use of alloy wheels and standard telescopic front suspension.

This means the upcoming adventure motorcycle from Suzuki will be more of a soft-roader that will be primarily designed to compete against the likes of KTM 250 Adventure, rather than take on off-road centric adventure motorcycles such as Royal Enfield Himalayan and Hero Xpulse 200 4V.

The teaser also reveals details such as the presence of dual-channel ABS, mono suspension at the rear, halogen turn signals, a Box-section swingarm and slightly rear-set foot pegs.

All these factors point out that the upcoming adventure motorcycle from Suzuki will be heavily based on the Suzuki Gixxer 250. However, we expect this motorcycle to sport a slightly different seating geometry with higher-set handlebars.

Thoughts About Suzuki's Upcoming Adventure Motorcycle

The adventure motorcycle segment has been picking up pace in India and it is one of few segments that shows decent YoY growth figures.

By launching a new adventure motorcycle, Suzuki can increase their overall sales and market share in India. However, the success of this motorcycle will heavily rely on the pricing.
