Suzuki Motorcycles February 2022 Sales Breakup: Avenis, Access 125, Burgman & More
The sales breakup for Suzuki Motorcycles in India is out and in February 2022, the newly launched Suzuki Avenis scooter has immediately taken the spot as the second best selling Suzuki two-wheeler in India.

However, the Indian two-wheeler segment is being stagnant for quite some time and as a result, the overall sales have gone down for most OEMs despite launching a few new products in recent times.

Suzuki Motorcycles have also suffered the burden and the overall YoY sales are down by a considerable margin.
The overall domestic sales of the Suzuki Motorcycles has come down by almost 1.5 per cent in terms of YoY sales figures as the Japanese two-wheeler giant managed to sell just 58,603 units in February 2022.

Breaking the numbers, the Suzuki Access still retains the top step of the sales podium by selling 37,512 units in February 2022, however, the YoY sales is down by more than 22 per cent. Moreover, MoM sales for the Suzuki Access is also down by 11 per cent.

The newcomer Suzuki Avenis has become 2nd best seller for Suzuki in February 2022 and sales jumped by more than 4,000 units compared to its MoM sales performance.

The Suzuki Burgman sales also saw a minor increase in terms of YoY sales performance as the model managed to sell 8,636 units in February 2022, which resulted in YoY growth of more than 1 per cent. However, MoM performance dipped by more than 9 per cent as the company sold 9,504 units in January 2022.

Next on the list is the Suzuki Gixxer, and the company sold 1,815 units of this motorcycle in February 2022, which is just 8 units less than what it managed last year during the same time. However, MoM sales of Gixxer is down by more than 26 per cent.

The Gixxer 250 on the other hand sold 234 units in February 2022, resulting in a more than 57 per cent dip in YoY sales. However, MoM sales have improved by 63 units.

In addition to this, the Suzuki Hyabusa sales in February 2022 is down by 6 units as Suzuki only managed to sell 12 units in February 2022. While Suzuki V-Storm also equalled the numbers, the MoM sales have gone up as only 5 units were sold in January 2022.

In general, the MoM sales performance of Suzuki motorcycles in the domestic market has gone down by more than 3 per cent as the Japanese company managed to sell more than 60,000 units in January 2022.

However, thanks to Suzuki Motorcycle's growth in international markets, YoY exports are up by more than 12 per cent and the export numbers now stand at 13,597 units for February 2022 as opposed to just 12,132 units in February 2021.
Speaking about the Suzuki Avenis, it competes with other 125cc scooters in India such as Honda Grazia 125, TVS Ntorq 125, Aprilia SR 125, and other 125cc scooters in India.

Powering the Suzuki Avenis is the same 124cc engine from the Suzuki Access 125 and this engine produces 8.5bhp of peak power at 6,750rpm and 10Nm of peak torque at 5,500rpm.
Thoughts About Suzuki Sales Performance
The domestic market sales for Suzuki is down by a significant margin and the overall sales numbers are also a matter of concern. However, the launch of Suzuki Avenis could boost the overall sales numbers in the coming months.
