Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer Suzuki has launched the all-new Burgman Street EX maxi-scooter in India. The Suzuki Burgman Street EX is priced at Rs 1,12,300 (ex-showroom).
Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer Suzuki has launched the all-new Burgman Street EX maxi-scooter in India. The Suzuki Burgman Street EX is priced at Rs 1,12,300 (ex-showroom).
The Suzuki Burgman Street EX is the new top-spec variant of the maxi-scooter sold by the Japanese manufacturer in India and it brings with it quite a few new features including a major mechanical update.
The Suzuki Burgman Street EX draws power from an updated version of the firm's 124cc single-cylinder engine Suzuki Eco Performance Alpha engine that produces 8.5bhp at 7,000rpm and 10.2Nm of peak torque at 5,000rpm.
The Burgman Street EX's engine is equipped with an Auto Start/Stop system which Suzuki states help reduce fuel consumption as well as reduces emissions. The new Burgman Street EX also features a new Silent Starter System that silently restarts the engine from its switched-off state (Auto Start/Stop) when the rider throttles up after stopping in traffic.
The other major mechanical difference between the new top-spec EX variant and other Suzuki Burgman Street models is the new larger 12-inch wheel which is shod with a wider 100/80 section tyre. The new Burgman Street EX is the only version of the Suzuki maxi-scooter to sport the larger wheel with the other variants making do with a 10-inch unit at the rear.
The Burgman Street EX also carries forward the Bluetooth-enabled digital instrument console with the Suzuki Ride Connect system found on the mid-spec version of the scooter. This system allows riders to sync their phones with the instrument cluster allowing for features like turn-by-turn navigation, incoming call, SMS and WhatsApp Alert display, missed call and unread SMS alerts, speed exceeding warning, phone battery level display and estimated time of arrival among others.
Speaking about the launch of the new Burgman Street EX, Satoshi Uchida, Managing Director, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd. said, "The love and affection that our Burgman Street got from the Indian customers prompted us to launch the All-New Burgman Street EX in the country immediately after the global unveil. This is a special product from the house of Suzuki that incorporates latest technology thus offering an unparalleled ride experience. By bringing in the unique exposure of Suzuki's international Burgman heritage, we believe that the Burgman Street EX, the Special One will now be more special than ever and will herald a new era of luxury scooter riding in India."
Thoughts About The Suzuki Burgman Street EX
The Suzuki Burgman Street EX is the new top-of-the-line variant of the firm's maxi-scooter offering. The new Burgman Street EX brings with it quite a few changes that help differentiate it from the other variants of the Suzuki maxi-scooter which may just justify the Rs 19K increase in price.
