Indian motorcycle manufacturer Royal Enfield has revealed the all-new Super Meteor 650 at EICMA 2022 bike show in Milan, Italy.
Indian motorcycle manufacturer Royal Enfield has revealed the all-new Super Meteor 650 at EICMA 2022 bike show in Milan, Italy. The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 is offered in two guises - Classic and Grand Tourer.
The all-new Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 is based on the firm's 650 platform but features a new tubular frame setup to suit the new bike's cruiser setup. 648cc parallel-twin engine produces 46.3bhp at 7,250rpm and 52.3Nm of peak torque at 5,650rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed transmission.
As stated before the Super Meteor 650 from Royal Enfield features a new steel tubular spine frame with a 43mm upside-down fork with 120mm of travel at the front and twin shocks with 101mm of travel at the rear.
Braking duties are handled by a single 320mm disc at the front and a 300mm disc at the rear both of which sport two-piston callipers. The brakes are aided by dual-channel ABS. The Super Meteor rides on a 19-inch front wheel shod with a 100/90 -19M/C 57H tubeless tyre. The rear wheel is a 16-inch unit shod with 150/80 B16 M/C 71H tubeless tyre.
The new Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 is 2,260mm long, 890mm wide, and 1,155mm tall. The wheelbase of the Super Meteor 650 is 1,500mm and the cruiser motorcycle features a 15.7-litre fuel tank. The Super Meteor 650's seat sits just 740mm above the ground and the cruiser motorcycle offers just 135mm of ground clearance. The Super Meteor 650 weighs 241kg (kerb weight with 90 per cent fuel and oil).
The Super Meteor 650 from Royal Enfield features a very classical cruiser design but sports LED lighting all around. All the classic styling elements of a cruiser like the circular headlamp, wide handlebars, teardrop fuel tank, low scalloped seat and the fully feet-forward foot controls.
Speaking at the unveiling of the Super Meteor 650 at EICMA 2022, Siddhartha Lal, Managing Director of Eicher Motors Ltd. said, "We have always had a differentiated approach to building motorcycles and our new cruiser, the Super Meteor 650, is the next evolution of this approach. Inspired by our own long distance riding experiences and those of our customers, we have built the Super Meteor to be absolutely enjoyable to all senses. The engine is super refined and responsive and offers relaxed part-throttle experience at highway-plus speeds, the riding ergonomics are fine-tuned to offer a leisurely, yet in-control riding experience, and the overall premium fit-finish of parts and materials evoke visual and sensory delight. The gorgeous silhouette and contours of the Super Meteor have been inspired by generations of cruisers from Royal Enfield, and are at the same time, familiar, yet absolutely distinct."
