Petronas TVS Racing Team Revealed - TVS Inks Sponsorship Deal With Racing Specialists

The new sponsorship deal sees Petronas, which is wholly owned by the Malaysian government, become the title sponsor of TVS Racing, India's first factory racing team.

As per the new sponsorship deal, TVS Motor Company and Petronas will soon start selling a co-branded engine oil in India dubbed TVS Tru4 RacePro. The new co-branded engine oil offering will be available from May 2022 onwards to the general public. Petronas claims that the new Tru4 RacePro engine oil features the same premium additive technology as the one used by the racing team.

The newly rebranded Petronas TVS Racing Team will sport a brand new livery effective immediately. Petronas will also supply the new racing team with its high-performance engine oil dubbed Sprinta.

The new Petronas TVS Racing Team will participate in all formats of domestic two-wheeler racing in the country. The team will participate in road-racing, supercross, and rally formats of racing, including the Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship (INMRC), Indian National Supercross Championship (INSC), and Indian National Rally Championship (INRC).

Speaking at the event announcing the new partnership, KN Radhakrishnan, CEO TVS Motor Company said "We are delighted to have Petronas as our partner for TVS Racing. With its new sponsorship deal, TVS has brought one of the biggest names in global motorsports, Petronas to the Indian racing scene. Petronas, with its rich history in Formula 1 and MotoGP and other racing formats will help give TVS Racing the edge it needs to deal with its rivals in the Indian motorsports scene. Hopefully, the entry of Petronas into the Indian racing scene will encourage more sponsors to look at India as a viable place for motor racing.
