Design

Starting with the design, the Ola S1 Air electric scooters look very similar to the previously launched Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro electric scooters from a distance. However, one can clearly see the difference when parked beside each other, where the Ola S1 Air definitely looks less premium with its dual-tone finish comprising of dark finish on the lower panels, simple tubular grab handles, and a few more.

On the other hand, the TVS iQube is a smart-looking scooter with a boxy design theme. Though not as good-looking as the Ola S1 Air, the model does feel a bit more premium with its body-coloured grab handles, alloy wheels, and the model even gets a disc brake as standard on the front.

Practicality

The Ola S1 Air electric scores pretty well in this regard as the model sports a very large 34-litre underseat storage - Which is just 2 litres less than the more premium Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro electric scooters.

In comparison, the underseat storage in the TVS iQube is half the capacity of the newly launched Ola S1 Air at 17 litres. Moreover, this lack of space could be a problem for a few customers as well

Powertrain

Coming to the powertrain, while both electric scooters use hub-mounted electric motors, the one in the newly launched Ola S1 Air produces a peak power output of 4.5kW and rated power output of 2.7kW.

In comparison, the TVS iQube's hub-mounted electric motor produces a peak power of 4.4kW and rated power of 3kW. Moreover, both electric scooters sport multiple ride modes as well.

Performance

In terms of performance, the Ola S1 Air electric scooter takes 4.3 seconds to reach 40km/h, and the true top speed of the Ola S1 Air is rated at 85km/h. In comparison, the TVS iQube electric scooter takes 4.2 seconds to reach 40km/h, and the true top speed of the TVS iQube electric scooter is rated at 78km/h.

Battery Pack

In terms of the battery pack, the newly launched Ola S1 Air electric scooter comes packed with a 2.5kWh battery pack. On the other hand, the TVS iQube electric scooter sports a larger 3.04kWh battery pack.

Range

Thanks to the larger battery pack, the updated TVS iQube electric scooter can cover 100 kilometres on a full charge. However, the lighter Ola S1 Air electric scooter can go 1 km further than what the TVS iQube can manage, rates the ARAI.

Charging

In terms of charging, the TVS iQube comes with a 650W charger, and this charger takes 4.5 hours to charge the battery pack to 80 per cent of its capacity. On the other hand, the Ola S1 Air electric scooter comes with a portable 500W charger, and this electric scooter also takes just 4.5 hours to charge to its full capacity.

Features

Both electric scooters are well-equipped in terms of features. However, in terms of features, the newly launched Ola S1 Air comes with a bit more features. This includes features such as OTA updates, Party mode, Navigation, and much more. On the other hand, the TVS iQube comes with better hardware such as disc brakes at the front, alloy wheels, and more.

Thoughts About The TVS iQube & Ola S1 Air

With the introductory price gone, the Ola S1 Air electric scooter is now positioned very close to the TVS iQube in terms of pricing. While the Ola S1 Air seems to hold a very slight advantage in some places, the TVS iQube also seems to hold a few advantages as well. One of the most crucial ones is the proven track record of the iQube electric scooter.
