Ola S1 Air Launched In India At Rs 79,999 - The Electric Ola For Everyone?
Bangalore-based electric vehicle manufacturer Ola Electric has launched the S1 Air in India. The Ola S1 Air is priced at Rs 79,999.
Bangalore-based electric vehicle manufacturer Ola Electric has launched the S1 Air in India. The Ola S1 Air is priced at Rs 79,999 (ex-showroom) for those who reserve it by the 24th of October. Prices post that date will be Rs 84,999 (ex-showroom).
The Ola S1 Air is the most affordable electric scooter from the Ola S1 range and the price has been achieved by trimming the regular S1 setup to help the new scooter deal with internal combustion rivals at least in terms of price.
The Ola S1 Air is powered by a 2.5kWh battery pack that helps the all-new electric scooter deliver an IDC range of 101 kilometers (ARAI) on a single charge when ridden in Eco Mode.
The smaller battery pack has also resulted in the Ola S1 Air featuring a flat footboard while also helping bring the weight of the electric scooter to just 99 kilogrammes. The battery pack takes 4.5 hours to charge using the 500W portable charger.
The Ola S1 Air's battery pack feeds a hub-mounted electric motor that delivers a peak output of 4.5kW or 6.03bhp. Ola claims that the S1 Air will sprint from 0-40km/h in 4.3 seconds which is half a second slower than the S1 and 1.4 second slower than the S1 Pro. 0-60km/h takes 9.8 seconds and the top speed of the S1 Air is 90km/h.
The Ola S1 Air also features quite a few other changes that help differentiate it from the other models in the S1 range. The most noticeable change is the two-tone exterior theme.
Other changes come in the suspension setup of the new Ola S1 Air which now sports conventional telescopic forks at the front and dual shocks at the rear.
The alloy wheels of the S1 and S1 Pro have made way for steel wheels shod with 90/90 tyres while the disc brake setup has been replaced by drum brakes for both the front and rear.
Like the S1 and S1 Pro, the new S1 Air sports a 7-inch touchscreen display with Move OS 3.0 built-in which brings in features like vacation mode, multiple profiles, calling, navigation and the newly announced party mode. The S1 Air will be offered in five two-tone shades - Neo Mint, Coral Glam, Liquid Silver, Jet Black and Porcelain White.
Ola has opened reservations for the S1 Air today and will open up the purchase window for the S1 Air in February. Deliveries of the S1 Air will start in April 2022.

The Ola S1 Air looks to be the real deal with its hyper-aggressive price tag and bootload of features. Hopefully, Ola will fix all its QC issues by then for a much smoother experience for those that ride the S1 Air.
