Ola Electric Achieves Its Highest Ever Monthly Sales In October 2022 – End Of ‘ICE Age’
Ola Electric has claimed that the company sold 20,000 of its electric scooters in the month of October 2022. This is not only the highest monthly sales figure for Ola Electric, but it is also the highest-ever monthly sales figure for any electric vehicle manufacturer in India.

In recent times, the sales figures for the Ola Electric scooters have been rising consistently. Moreover, MoM sales figures are up by almost 60 per cent, while the entire electric two-wheeler industry is growing at a respectable rate of 30 per cent.

This strong and consistently growing sales figures of Ola Electric not only represent the growth of the electric scooter market in India, but it also represents the acceptance of the startup EV manufacturer in the country.

That being said, Ola Electric currently has three products in India namely Ola S1, Ola S1 Pro, and Ola S1 Air. Out of these three electric scooters, the Ola S1 Pro is the flagship model and the Ola S1 Air is the newly launched base variant. Deliveries of the latter are expected to commence from 2023 onwards.

Diving into the details, Ola Electric claimed that its sales figures shot up to 10 times its average sales during the Vijayadashami and Dussehra. So, in a way, the festive season has helped reach a new milestone for the EV maker in the country.
Recently, Ola Electric also launched its accessories and apparel range in the country. Unlike some automotive manufacturers, the new range of accessories and apparel by Ola Electric is on the affordable side with a maximum price of Rs 2,000.

Speaking about its latest product, the Ola S1 Air, the electric scooter is now priced at Rs 84,999, and the model can be reserved by paying an amount of Rs 999. However, in a hunt to aggressively price the Ola S1 Air electric scooter, the company has not sorted to aggressive cost-cutting measures.

In fact, the Ola S1 Air electric scooter still comes equipped with features such as the large 7-inch touchscreen instrument cluster, Bluetooth connectivity, Navigation, OTA updates, reverse mode, remote boot unlock, LED lighting, and many more.

However, the Ola S1 Air does sport a few mechanical revisions as part of cost-cutting measures. This includes the absence of disc brakes, alloy wheels, mono front and rear suspension, and most importantly the powertrain from the Ola S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters.

Speaking about the powertrain, the new Ola S1 Air comes with an all-new hub-mounted electric motor with a peak power output of 4.5kW and rated power output of 2.7kW. On top of that, this electric motor is powered by a smaller 2.5kWh battery pack.

Despite these many changes to the electric scooter, the Ola S1 Air is still able to manage a commendable ARAI-rated range of 101 kilometres - Which is still better than a few of its more expensive competitors.

Thoughts About Ola Electric Sales Figures
Ola Electric has gained tremendous traction in the Indian automobile market, and the festive season during the previous month has really helped Ola Electric reach this new milestone. Though we expect the sales figures to go up in the coming months as well, it is still too early to summerise as the end of the 'ICE Age' (Internal Combustion Engine).
