New KTM RC 390 (2022) Could Feature Adjustable Suspension When Launched In India

The KTM RC 390 launched in the global markets in 2021. However, there is a delay in the India launch due to the shortage of semiconductors and the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

The international-spec motorcycle does feature adjustable suspension. As seen in the past, KTM has omitted the feature on other motorcycles when bought to Indian shores. However, the new suspersport motorcycle will most likely feature the adjustable suspension when launched in India.

This makes the upcoming RC 390, the only motorcycle in the segment to feature the adjustable suspension as standard. Its primary rival, the TVS Apache RR310 is also offered with an adjustable suspension as an option under the brand's Built To Order program.

Apart from the new mechanical hardware, the 2022 RC series also features a host of other design and feature changes as compared to the previous model line-up.

The front end of the RC390 will feature a new headlamp with a twin projector. Because of the revised front fascia, the windscreen on the new motorcycle is also larger in width and height. Also, the headlamp cowl seems to feature a carbon-fibre like finish enhancing the front look.

It also features boomerang-shaped light units flaked on either side of the headlamp. From the side, there is a new slimmer faring with the engine exposed, which aids for better cooling.

The other biggest change on the RC series would be the new instrument console. The new motorcycle uses the same TFT unit as seen on Duke and ADV models available in India. The display offers a host of information and is very intuitive to use for the rider.

The instrument console also features the KTM My Ride connected technology. This allows the rider to control their smartphone using the switch cube present on the handlebar including changing music, accepting or rejecting phone calls and more.

In terms of electronic rider aids, the new RC 390 will feature traction control, cornering ABS, supermoto ABS mode and quickshifter+ for the seamless up and downshifts without the operation of the clutch by the rider.

The new RC 390 will carry forward the same engine as the previous model. However, KTM has made a few internal component changes for a refined unit that is more track-biased.

The 373.2cc, single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine produces a maximum of 43bhp and a peak torque of 36Nm; paired with a six-speed gearbox with an anti-slip clutch.

The RC 390 is among the popular suspersport motorcycles in India. The 2022 model gets a host of changes and new features over the previous motorcycle. However, the biggest change has to be the adjustable suspension, which will allow the track riders to adjust as per their preference to extract maximum performance.
