New Honda CB500X Revealed: Comes With Hardware Updates
Honda has revealed the all-new CB500X motorcycle in India. According to specifications, Honda has made some important changes to the new CB500X motorcycle to enhance its abilities.
The biggest change seen on the new Honda CB500X motorcycle is its new 41mm, non-adjustable, Showa SFF-BP USD fork that replaces the earlier telescopic fork. This upgrade will improve the feedback to the rider while being a bit more absorbent and compliant over bad patches of roads.
Also, this suspension system comes with 132mm of wheel travel for mild off-road use and seems to strike the right balance between on-road and off-road setup.
Other changes on the new Honda CB500X comes in the form of a new aluminium front wheel which is 100gms lighter than the previous wheel. This means, the motorcycle will have lower unsprung mass, which will positively impact the ride and handling characteristics of the motorcycle.
Apart from this, Honda has also shaved 1kg by using a new swingarm. Honda says this new swingarm is just as strong despite weighing significantly less than the previous one.
Moreover, Honda has also upgraded the braking hardware of the new Honda CB500X by using a twin 296mm disc brake at the front instead of using just a single 310mm disc at the front. Other changes include a new Pearl Organic Green and Black colour option for 2022.
However, Honda has not made any changes to the powertrain on the new Honda CB500X motorcycle and it continues to be powered by the same 471cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine. This engine puts out a respectable 47bhp of peak power at 8,500rpm and 43.2Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm.
At present, Honda CB500X is priced at Rs 6.87 lakh (ex-showroom, India). However, expect this number go up a bit to compensate for the upgraded hardware.
Thoughts About The Honda CB500X
The Honda CB500X is a large motorcycle that is well suited for both urban and touring purposes. Moreover, the rugged build also improves the motorcycle's abilities up to a certain extent. Apart from that, the latest upgrade makes the Honda CB500X much more desirable.
