KTM e-Duke Electric Motorcycle Confirmed: Leaked Document Reveals Specs & Design
KTM e-Duke is coming our way! That's right, KTM's first electric motorcycle has just been confirmed via a leaked document from Australia. The image of the document marks all upcoming motorcycles from the KTM and Husqvarna brands, including the Husqvarna e-Pilen and KTM e-Duke. Not much else is known at the moment.

KTM is one of those motorcycle manufacturers that produces motorcycles that provide pure visceral riding pleasure. These are motorcycles made by motorcyclists, for motorcyclists and are pure in their intent to amplify riding pleasure.

Some of the bikes made by KTM are utter monsters waiting to unleash their power and wrath out on the streets, all while plastering the widest grin on the rider's face or causing a trouser accident. There's really no in-between with these motorcycles.

It was hard to imagine KTM going the electric motorcycle way. However, deep down, we all knew that KTM would eventually have to bow down to environmentalism and adopt electric mobility. This was made even more obvious when the brand revealed the KTM E-Speed electric scooter.

Now, the fears of many and the dreams of many more have come true. The very first KTM electric motorcycle has been confirmed through some leaked images of a product document. The document showcases a few future products from the KTM and Husqvarna stable including the KTM E10, Husqvarna e-Pilen, and Freeride E LV.

The most interesting product and of course the one that interests us the most is the KTM e-Duke. The motorcycle is blurred out in the image, however the silhouette is pretty easy to make out. It closely resembles the smallest product in the Duke lineup - the 125 Duke.

It looks like the motorcycle will be styled to look exactly like the 125 Duke, which in turn looks like the 200 Duke, 250 Duke, 390 Duke, 790 Duke, and even the 890 Duke. Basically, it follows the familiar KTM Duke design language.

The document also reveals the specifications. Well, most of it at least. It is powered by a 5.5kWh battery that sends electricity to a 10kW motor, which translates to 13.4bhp. This is just around 0.9bhp lower than the KTM 125 Duke. Even the Husqvarna e-Pilen will be powered by the same powertrain.

It was only a while ago that Bajaj and KTM had announced the development of an EV platform that would then spawn multiple electric vehicles for both brands. It is quite possible that the KTM e-Duke might be produced under this partnership. It is also quite possible for Bajaj to create its own electric motorcycle based on this platform. This also means the motorcycle might be produced in India sooner or later.

The other motorcycles on the document too look very interesting and we can imagine that these motorcycles will all be fun-to-ride and reasonably thrilling.

Thoughts On KTM e-Duke Being Confirmed By Leaked KTM Document
The fact that KTM has gone the electric way is not surprising at all. It was in-fact expected. However, it still is a little heartbreaking for hardcore KTM fans and motorcyclists. Yet, it should be interesting to see what the future holds for us with KTM making electric motorcycles.
