Kawasaki Ninja 400 Launch Teased Ahead Of India Return
Japanese two-wheeler giant Kawasaki has teased the return of Ninja 400 to India. The Kawasaki Ninja 400 was last seen in India back in 2020.
Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer Kawasaki has teased the return of Ninja 400 to India. The Kawasaki Ninja 400 was last seen in India back in 2020 when the BS6 norms kicked in and the Japanese marque had to pull the bike from its showrooms.
Ahead of the launch of the new BS6 compliant Ninja 400, Kawasaki India has released a new video on its Instagram channel teasing the arrival of the twin-cylinder sports bike.
The teased arrival of the Kawasaki Ninja 400 in India comes just a few weeks after the two-wheeler manufacturer took the wraps of the updated sports bike which is now compliant with Euro5 emission norms (equivalent to India's BS6 rules).
The Kawasaki Ninja 400 continues to draw power from a 399cc liquid-cooled, parallel twin engine that produces 44.3bhp and 37Nm of peak torque. The new Ninja 400 is actually 1Nm down compared to its BS4 compliant predecessor. The Ninja 400 sends power to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox with an assist and slipper clutch. Kawasaki claims that the clutch lever action is now 20 per cent lighter compared to the previous Ninja 400.
The new Kawasaki Ninja 400 retains its trellis frame setup with 41mm telescopic forks at the front along with a preload adjustable monoshock at the rear.
A 310mm petal-type disc with 2-piston callipers handles braking duties at the front on the new Kawasaki Ninja 400 while a 220mm petal disc clamped by single piston callipers stops the rear wheel. Dual-channel ABS aids the Kawasaki Ninja 400's braking setup. The Kawasaki Ninja 400 rides on 17-inch alloy wheels that are shod with 110/70 (front) and 150/70 (rear) tyres.
Kawasaki hasn't made any changes with regards to the design of the Ninja 400 sports bike. The Ninja 400 continues to sport dual LED headlights, clip on handlebars, a muscular fuel tank (capable of holding 14-litres of fuel, a split seat layout and a sleek rear end. Kawasaki has not updated the Ninja 400's semi-digital instrument cluster.
The only change in terms of visuals comes in the form of the new Kawasaki Racing Team (KRT) paint scheme which is a mix of mostly Lime Green along with ebony and white with a few red accents thrown in.
Thoughts On The Upcoming Kawasaki Ninja 400 Launch
The Kawasaki Ninja 400 is set to finally return to Indian roads after a hiatus of 2 years. This comes after the Japanese marque finally updated the bike for newer emission norms. However, don't expect Kawasaki to do anything about cutting down the insane price tag that it fitted on the bike the last time it was here.
