Hero Electric is all set to train around 20,000 mechanics in the area of electric vehicle servicing and repairs. These mechanics will be picked from around the country and being trained in EVs will help create a perfect ecosystem for electric vehicles in India. This partnership is a part of Hero Electric's Private Garage Owners (PGO) initiative.

ReadyAssist is one of the largest roadside assistance companies in India with a large existing network of around 5,000 mechanics located around the country. These mechanics are private garage owners who are currently involved in assisting clients who require roadside assistance with their vehicles.

Apart from training the 20,000 mechanics, Hero Electric will also provide the training module to the 5,000 mechanics already onboard with ReadyAssist. Speaking of the training module, it is divided into two stages - one for beginners and another for experts.

Once the training is complete, the mechanics will be assessed and only upon completing the assessment will a certificate be given to them. This certificate will qualify them to work on electric vehicles.

What makes this better is that, the mechanics will not only be able to work on Hero Electric two-wheelers, but will be able to repair and service other EVs in generic terms as well. These mechanics will then also be ready to assist in doorstep and on-spot EV servicing.
