BSA Goldstar 650 Spotted Testing Again In India - Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 Rival
BSA Goldstar 650 has been once again spotted testing in India. The recently spotted motorcycle is not wearing any camouflage and neither is the motorcycle wearing any badges.
However, it is crystal clear from the spied images that the spotted motorcycle is the BSA Gold Star motorcycle that was previously launched in the UK.
If launched in India, the BSA Gold Star will directly rival the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 in the country. Though both motorcycles are powered by a 650cc engine, the BSA Gold Star unlike the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 is powered by a single-cylinder engine.
Speaking about the powertrain in the BSA Goldstar 650, the motorcycle is powered by a 652cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 4-valve engine. This engine produces 44.27bhp of peak power at 6,000 rpm and 55Nm of peak torque at 4,000rpm.
Apart from that, the BSA Goldstar 650 is equipped with a 5-speed gearbox. Moreover, the use of a 5-speed unit instead of a 6-speed unit compliments the retro-ish nature of the motorcycle and engine.
Though the design is a very subjective matter, the BSA Goldstar 650 is a very stunning-looking motorcycle and retro motorcycle lovers would fall head-over-heels for the BSA Gold Star as the motorcycle looks very similar to the original BSA Goldstar from the 1960s.
Moreover, the retro look is further enhanced by using a single-piece handlebar, twin-pod analogue dials, single-piece bench seat, round headlamps, circular turn indicators,18-inch spoked wheels at the front and 17-inch spoked wheels at the rear.
Hardware-wise, the BSA Goldstar motorcycle uses a dual-cradle, tubular steel frame chassis, 41mm telescopic fork at the front and twin pre-load adjustable shock absorbers at the rear. Moreover, the motorcycle is equipped with a 320mm disc brake setup at the front and a 255mm single disc brake setup at the rear, and both sides come with Brembo calipers.
Despite the retro looks, the BSA Goldstar 650 is a modern motorcycle with modern features such as an LCD display, dual-channel ABS, slipper clutch, USB charger, LED taillamp and many more.
Though the British brand was brought back to life by Classic Legends (A subsidiary company owned by the Indian automobile giant, Mahindra), BSA had officially revealed the BSA Goldstar 650 motorcycle in the UK at the 2021 NEC Birmingham Motorcycle Show.
Speaking about BSA, the company was initially an arms and tools manufacturing company that transformed into one of the biggest names in the two-wheeler industry in the later years. However, the British company failed to carry the momentum due to poor management, eventually leading to the closure of the company due to massive losses.
In international markets, the BSA Goldstar 650 motorcycle rivals the likes of Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, Kawasaki W800, and Triumph Street Twin.
Thoughts About The BSA Goldstar 650
The BSA Goldstar 650 is a proper retro-themed motorcycle and the motorcycle will suit those looking for a comfortable retro-themed motorcycle. Moreover, we expect the motorcycle to be a favourite among retro motorcycle lovers in the country.
