Bounce Infinity E1 Test Rides Begin Before Deliveries Start In March 2022
Bounce Infinity E1 test rides begin. Starting today, 24 February 2022, customers will be able to test ride the Bounce Infinity E1 electric scooter in select locations. Phase 1 of the test rides has now started and the scooters will be made available in Bangalore, Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, and Kochi in this phase.

Bounce started off as a scooter rental company when it was first launched in 2018. It had scooters from several different brands under its portfolio and saw significant success. Bounce then moved towards electric vehicles and saw even more success. In order to make the most of the industry's shift towards electrification, Bounce started the development of an electric scooter and became an EV manufacturer.

After many months of development, Bounce launched the Infinity E1 electric scooter in December 2021. The brand hit it out of the ballpark with the pricing. The Bounce Infinity E1 was launched at a starting price of as low as Rs 36,000 (Ex-showroom and inclusive of the FAME-II Subsidy, Gujarat). Now this is for the scooter without the battery.

Yes, Bounce will sell you the Infinity E1 without the battery pack. This is because the company is the first in India to launch the 'Battery as a service' concept. Buyers can simply subscribe to using a battery. This was, the user can ride to the nearest battery-swapping station, swap batteries and continue riding without the need to worry about the maintenance of the battery.

This also means that the end-user won't have to go through the expensive process of replacing the battery once it is past its prime, every few years. This, according to Bounce, brings maintenance costs down by up to 40 percent. These are huge savings indeed.

However, if you want to have the scooter with the battery, Bounce allows you to do that as well. Even then, users have access to these battery swapping stations on a subscription basis. With all this in mind, Bounce seems to have nailed the strategy when it comes to EV usability.

The company has also undertaken the establishment of these battery swapping stations across the country and Bangalore is the first city in which the battery swapping facility is functional. Coming to the scooter itself, the Bounce Infinity E1 comes with a decent amount of features like cruise control, geo-fencing, tow alert, and anti-theft. It gets LED lighting and an LCD instrument cluster.

The Bounce Infinity E1 is powered by a 2kWh battery that sends juice to a 2.2kW motor. It has a top speed of 65km/h and a claimed range of 85 kilometres. Deliveries of the Bounce Infinity E1 will start in March 2022.

Customer test rides start in Bangalore on 24 February, followed by Delhi-NCR on 04 March. The test ride scooters will be available in Kochi from 10 March while Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, and Chennai will commence the test rides from 15 March, 2022.
