Bounce Infinity E1 Production Commences - Deliveries To Start On April 18
Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturer Bounce Infinity has commenced the production of the E1 scooter. Bounce Infinity E1 deliveries will start on April 18th.
Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturer Bounce Infinity has started production of the E1 e-scooter at its facility in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan. Bounce Infinity has also revealed that deliveries of the E1 electric scooter will commence from the 18th of April.

Bounce Infinity had launched the E1 electric scooter in India in December last year. The Bounce Infinity E1 is the first electric vehicle in India to offer an EV with the 'battery as a service' concept.

This means that owners can purchase the E1 without the battery pack. Instead, they can subscribe to a plan to get the battery pack which allows for an initial price tag as low as Rs 36,000 (Ex-showroom and inclusive of the FAME-II Subsidy, Gujarat). When the battery pack's charge level is low, owners can head to one of Bounce's battery swapping stations and switch their drained units for a fully charged power supply.

The Bounce Infinity E1 is also offered in regular EV guise. Prices for the regular E1 start at Rs 59,999 (Ex-showroom and inclusive of the FAME-II Subsidy, Gujarat). Owners have the option to charge up their battery packs or swap over for a new one if they are subscribed to the battery swapping service.

Speaking at the start of the production of the E1, Vivekananda Hallekere, Co-Founder and CEO, Bounce Infinity said, "With the roll-out of the Bounce Infinity E1 from our plant, we are thrilled that the first batch of our electric scooters will soon make its way to eagerly awaiting customers across the country. All of us are excited about the future of mobility in India, and are proud to play a part in it."

The E1 electric scooter is manufactured at Bounce Infinity's state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan. The facility which is spread over three acres can manufacture over 200,000 units every year. Bounce Infinity states that the facility features a mix of automation and human expertise to ensure precise and highest quality manufacturing. The company states that it has trained and deployed over 200 people to work at the facility in Bhiwadi. In the future, Bounce Infinity plans to set up another manufacturing facility in South India with an annual capacity exceeding 500,000 scooters.

The Bounce Infinity E1 uses a single brushless DC motor that produces 2.9bhp and 85Nm of peak torque. The motor draws power from a 2kWh battery pack that gives the E1 a claimed range of 85 kilometres on a single charge. The Bounce Infinity E1 offers three riding modes - Eco, Power & Reverse. The Bounce Infinity E1 also features a special 'drag' mode which allows owners to push their electric scooter in case of a puncture.
Other features on the Bounce Infinity E1 include 16-inch alloy wheels, disc brakes on both ends, cruise control, geo-fencing, tow alert and an anti-theft option that locks the rear wheel if any attempt at tampering is detected.

Thoughts On The Bounce Infinity E1
The Bounce Infinity E1 is the first scooter to follow the 'battery as a service' concept that helps keep initial purchase and maintenance costs down. With deliveries set to start on April 18th, the 'battery as a service' concept will soon be put to the test. If it succeeds, it could pave the way for rapid EV growth in India.
