Bajaj Trademarks ‘Pulsar Elan’ & ‘Pulsar Eleganz’: Could It Be Bajaj’s Upcoming Retro Motorcycles
Bajaj Auto has trademarked two new names in India and the filings for the new names were done in March 2022.
According to the new trademarks, Bajaj Auto has acquired trademarks for the names 'Pulsar Elan' and Pulsar Eleganz'. This means that the upcoming two new motorcycles from Bajaj Auto could be part of the Pulsar model range.
We expect the upcoming Bajaj Pulsar Elan and Pulsar Eleganz model to sport a retro look as the company currently lacks retro-themed motorcycles and the market for retro-themed motorcycles in India is consistently growing.
In addition to that, we expect one of these motorcycles to be powered by 200cc or 250cc powertrain, whereas the other model is likely to feature a more frugal 150cc or 180cc.
However, Bajaj doesn't seem to be developing a new product and the filings could be done for locking the names for future purposes.
Recently, Bajaj Auto also introduced a new exterior colour option to the Pulsar F250 motorcycle in India. The newly introduced exterior colour is a darker shade of blue that is slightly different from the existing blue colour used in other Bajaj motorcycles such as the Pulsar 220F, Pulsar NS200, Pulsar 150, Pulsar NS125, Platina 110ES, and CT100.
Prior to the introduction of the new blue colour option, the newly introduced Bajaj N250 and F250 motorcycles were offered in just two colour options - Techno Grey and Racing Red.
In addition to that, the new Bajaj F250 comes with features such as LED projector headlamps, LED tail lamps, LED DRLs, front and rear disc brakes, and much more.
In addition to these features, the new Bajaj Pulsar F250 also comes with features such as a traditional analogue tachometer, digital speedometer, trip meter, fuel efficiency indicator, service reminder, gear-position indicator, distance-to-empty fuel gauge, a USB charging port and a clock.
The new Bajaj Pulsar F250 is powered by an all-new 249cc, single-cylinder, 2-valve, Oil-Cooled, SOHC engine. Thanks to this set-up, this unit pushes out 23.5bhp of peak power at 8,750rpm and 21.5Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm, and this engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch.
Braking duty on the newly launched Bajaj Pulsar F250 is carried out by a 300mm disc brake at the front and a 230mm disc brake at the rear. However, the Bajaj Pulsar F250 comes with single-channel ABS only.
Thoughts About Bajaj's New Trademarked Names
The new trademarked names give rise to the suspicion that Bajaj Auto might soon introduce two new motorcycles under the Pulsar range. However, the trademark could also have been filed to lock the names for future use.
