Ather Energy Registers 50,0000 Unit Production Milestone
Recently, Ather Energy has announced that it has achieved 50,000 unit production milestone. In terms of sales, Ather Energy's growth in India has been steadily increasing and accelerated growth in recent times has helped the company achieve this milestone.
In addition to that, Ather Energy had registered 800 per cent YoY in growth in June 2022 after the automaker sold more than 3,200 units of its electric scooter in India. Moreover, thanks to rising fuel prices, the popularity of EVs has once again gone up in the country.
Apart from that, the rise in electric vehicle sales can also be linked to the advancement of battery technology over the years, and more people have started to see electric vehicles as a viable alternative to conventionally-powered vehicles.
Earlier, in a bid to further boost its sales, Ather Energy has partnered with the State Bank of India (SBI) for easy financing options for its electric scooters. As a result, more customers can buy the Ather electric scooter without much financial hassle. Also, Ather Energy is hosting the TNPL, which will aid its popularity among potential customers.
Speaking about Ather Energy, the startup EV maker recently launched the Ather 450X Gen 3 electric scooter. This latest version of the Ather Energy electric scooter packs a larger 3.66kWh battery pack instead of the 2.9kWh battery pack carried by the previous model.
The Ather 450 Gen 3 electric scooter is priced at Rs 1.39 lakh (ex-showroom, India), whereas the Ather 450 Plus Gen 3 electric scooter is priced at Rs 1.17 lakh (ex-showroom, India). It is worth mentioning that these mentioned prices include the FAME II and other subsidies.
Speaking about the Ather 450X Gen 3 electric scooter, the model sports 5 ride modes - Eco Mode, Smart Eco Mode, Ride Mode, Sport Mode and Warp Mode. Apart from that, the new larger battery pack has enabled the Ather 450X Gen 3 electric scooter to travel up to 146km on a full charge.
Diving into the details, the new battery pack is a Nickel Cobalt-based Lithium-Ion unit that weighs at 19kg and the electric scooter uses a 3-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor with 6.4kW of peak power.
At present, Ather Energy is provides 350 charging stations across 38 cities in India, and the company is planning to install 5,000 more fast chargers in the next 3 years.
