Bangalore-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer Ather Energy has opened its third showroom in its home city. The new Ather Space is located in Bangalore's Rajajinagar and is the 34th showroom from the electric scooter manufacturer in India.
The new Ather Space experience centre in Bangalore has been opened in association with BIA Ventures and will serve customers in the western part of the Garden City.
Speaking at the opening of the new Ather Space showroom in Rajajinagar, Ravneet Phokela, Chief Business Officer, Ather Energy said, "We debuted in Bengaluru in 2018 and the love and appreciation we have received from the city has been very motivating. Karnataka is one of the largest markets for Ather Energy, with a high rate of EV adoption, and encouraging acceptance for premium electric two-wheelers. Apart from Bengaluru, we have our presence in Hubli, Mysore, and Belgaum; and are looking at other markets like Mangalore, Udupi in Karnataka. The number of test rides and bookings has surged significantly in the city driving us to open our third store."
Nivedita, Managing Director, BIA Ventures added, "We from BIA Ventures Pvt Ltd are delighted to partner with Ather Energy as an exclusive retailer to drive EV adoption in Namma Bengaluru. Ather Energy has built a sustainable, high-quality, and well-performing electric vehicle from scratch, along with the supporting charging infrastructure. We have been receiving a great response from the customers and have already clocked 1500+ deliveries in our JP Nagar Experience centre. Also, Ather Energy has bestowed us with an award for the fastest 1000 deliveries among their retail partners."
The new Ather Space showroom in Bangalore is the third in the Garden city. Ather Energy already had showrooms in the Indiranagar and J.P. Nagar areas of the city.
The new Ather Space in Rajajnigar will offer customers from West Bangalore the opportunity to both purchase and service their electric Ather scooters. The showroom will also offer customers a unique opportunity to know about how their electric scooters work thanks to the stripped down unit which will be on display for everyone to see.
Ather Energy currently is one of the few electric vehicle manufacturers in the country to build its own charging network. The Ather Grid fast charging network currently consists of 310 charging stations in 30 cities across the country.
Ather Energy plans to expand the fast charging network will see the EV manufacturer install 5,000 fast chargers across the country. Ather Energy has signed an MoU with ESCOMs (Electric Supply Companies) of Karnataka to jointly establish fast charging for two-wheelers in 1,000 locations in the state.
Ather Energy currently offers two electric scooters to customers across the country - 450X and 450 Plus. The 450X is priced at Rs 1,50,657 while the 450 Plus sells at Rs 1,31,657 post the FAME-II subsidy in Karnataka. Ather Energy claims in terms of cost of ownership compared to 125cc ICE scooters, 450X and 450 Plus owners can now breakeven their investment in 18-24 months and will begin to save nearly Rs. 2 per km in the years after.
Thoughts On Ather's New Showroom In Bangalore
Ather Energy's third showroom in Bangalore shows just how voracious the Garden City's appetite for EVs is becoming. Hopefully with the new showroom, Ather Energy will be able to ensure customers keep coming in to buy a new electric scooter from them instead of their rivals from Ola, TVS and others.
