25,000 Ather 450X Produced: Milestone Achieved In 2 Years
Ather Energy is celebrating the roll-out of the 25,000th unit of the Ather 450X electric scooter from its manufacturng facility in Hosur, Tamilnadu. The milestone was achieved in 2 years since the company started the production of the electric scooter back in January 2020.
Ather electric scooters are one of the first players in the premium electric scooter segment in the country and redefined the perception of electric scooters in India.
The Ather electric scooters were very ahead of their time with features such as a large 7-inch touchscreen digital instrument cluster, reverse mode, multiple ride mode, all-LED lighting systems and many more.
Apart from that, Ather Energy has been steadily growing in the Indian automobile industry with its presence in over 23 cities. Also, Ather expanded last year with showrooms in cities like Kochi, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, New Delhi, Tiruchy, Kozhikode, Indore, Visakhapatnam, Jaipur, and Nashik.
In terms of design, the Ather electric scooter looks very futuristic and sophisticated with clean and crisp lines. Also, the use of high-quality materials makes the whole package feel very modern and well-built.
At the front, the sharp and tall front apron neatly integrates the LED headlamps and gives the Ather electric scooter an agile stance.
Moving on to the sides, a slightly exposed aluminium frame and the absence of the exhaust system gives the Ather electric scooter a far more premium and sophisticated looks that is unmatched by any other conventionally powered scooter in India.
Speaking about Ather Energy, the EV company currently sells two models in the country - Ather 450X and Ather 450 Plus. The Ather 450 Plus is the base model and comes powered by a 5.4kW electric motor with 22Nm of torque, and a 2.4kWh Lithium-ion battery pack.
On the other hand, the Ather 450X uses a more powerful 6kW electric motor with 26Nm of peak torque and it also sports a bigger 2.9kWh Lithium-ion battery pack under the footboard.
Thanks to this well-engineered powertrain, the base Ather 450 Plus can do 70kms on a single charge. Apart from that, the Ather 450 Plus takes just 10 minutes to add 10 kms of range while using a suitable fast charger.
In comparison, the Ather 450X can do 10kms more on a single charge for a claimed range of 80 kms on a fully charged battery pack. Moreover, the charging time in the Ather 450X is also reduced significantly compared to the Ather 450 Plus as the Ather 450X takes just 10 minutes to add 15 kms of range.
Apart from that, both the Ather 450 Plus and Ather 450X sport a very practical 22-litres of under-seat storage, robust telescopic front suspension, 12-inch wheels, water-resistant 7-inch touchscreen instrument display with Google maps compatibility and the system itself uses an Andriod-based OS.
Pricing for the Ather 450 Plus in Ahmedabad is Rs 1.13 lakh (Including FAME II subsidy), whereas the Ather 450X costs Rs 1.32 lakh (Including FAME II subsidy).
Thoughts About The Ather 450X
The Ather 450X is one of the best electric scooters currently you can buy in the country. The build quality in the Ather is one of the best in the business and most things feel very premium and built to last.
However, Ather must up their game in range as new entrants in the market are quoting an electric range that is well above the 100km mark.
