2022 KTM RC 390 Listed On Official India Website: Launch Soon
KTM is gearing up to launch the new uprated 2022 iteration of the KTM RC 390 in India. We expect KTM to launch this entry-level superbike soon in the Indian two-wheeler market as the company gets the updated new model listed on the official Indian website.

Apart from that, KTM has also released a teaser of the upcoming updated 2022 KTM RC 390 on social media.
Speaking about the update, the first thing that anybody will notice is the new fairing that completely transforms the looks of this Indo-Austrian entry-level superbike. Gone is the razor-sharp fairing that housed two circular projector headlamps, in its place is a reflector-type LED headlight unit flanked by LED DRLs and turn signals on both sides.

Apart from that, the new windscreen is also a larger unit, which will protect the rider from windblasts. This upgrade will be more useful while travelling in higher speeds.
Moving to the sides, we can see that the engineers at KTM have spent some considerable time in the wind tunnel - optimising the airflow around the motorcycle. The fairing now sports air channels and does not cover the lower half of the motorcycle.

In addition to that, the angle of the windscreen is a bit more upright and slightly curved. Also, the fuel tank is now a more muscular-looking unit.

Coming to the rear portion of the new KTM RC 390, it has been completely redesigned and looks just as sharp and sporty as before.

Under the skin, KTM has made some changes to the 2022 KTM RC 390 and one of the changes that are worth mentioning is the use of a new bolt-on rear subframe. The advantage of this new subframe is the repairability if the motorcycle gets involved in an accident.

Apart from that, expect the suspension set up to be upgraded but it will continue to be a USD forks at the front and a mono-shock unit at the rear.
Braking duties will be handled by a single 320mm disc brake at the front and a 230mm disc brake at the rear. These brakes also come with assistance from Bosch-made dual-channel ABS.

In addition to all these updates, the new KTM RC 390 also gets a new TFT instrument console that is Bluetooth compatible.
The new KTM RC 390 will still be powered by the same tried-and-tested 373cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. This engine is likely to push out 44bhp of peak power and 37Nm of peak torque.

The additional torque output could be the courtesy of the bigger air-box and thanks to the aerodynamic improvements, the top speed is up by 11km/h. The gearbox is a 6-speed unit with a slipper clutch.

Thoughts About The Upcoming New KTM RC 390
Though the new updated RC 390 doesn't look like Batman's motorcycle anymore, the design changes does make the RC 390 a bit more aerodynamic. Moreover, the hardware updates are likely to improve the ride quality.
