Honda's premium CB range has received a couple of new motorcycles in the BS6 era. The company launched the popular H'Ness CB350 and the CB350RS in India. These new motorcycles replaced the CB300R as the brand's entry-level premium motorcycle range.

There were no reports about the CB300R's revival in the BS6 era. However, a report from Rushlane reveals that the company could launch the CB300R BS6 in the Indian market. According to the report, the company has shipped 8 units of the CB300R in India in April 2021.

If Honda decides to launch the CB300R, it would continue to be sold in the brand's premium BigWing dealerships. Also, it is expected to be powered by an updated BS6-compliant version of the same engine that powered the CB300R BS4 model.

The BS4 motorcycle was powered by a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, 286cc engine. It produces a maximum of 31.4bhp at 8000rpm and a peak torque of 27Nm at 6500rpm. The engine came mated to a standard six-speed gearbox.

One update we could expect from the company is the inclusion of a slip-assist clutch. Whether the traction control and Honda's Roadsync voice assistant and connected technology will make to the CB300R BS6 remains to be seen.

All other mechanicals are expected to remain unchanged on the BS6 CB300R as well. The design of the CB300R appealed to a diverse audience with its mix of old-school round-shaped headlamps and modern LED technology. Apart from this, the motorcycle also featured a simple design with up-right rider ergonomics.

It also features a muscular-looking fuel tank, a fully digital instrument cluster, a USD front forks, a mono-shock setup at the rear, disc brakes at both ends supported by a dual-channel ABS as standard, and a stubby exhaust.

The CB300R is one of the first neo-retro streetfighter motorcycles in the Indian market. It was brought in by Honda via (CKD) Completely Knock Down units. As a result, it had a relatively higher price tag as compared to its rivals. The motorcycle retailed at Rs Rs 2.41 lakh, ex-showroom (Delhi).

The Honda CB300R, if launched, is expected to be the cheapest motorcycle available in the premium BigWing range. The Honda CB300R will rival the Mahindra Mojo, the BMW G310R and the TVS Apache 310R. However, the BS4 model also rivalled the Bajaj Dominar, and the KTM390 because of its price tag.
