The Velocipedo electric trike was first unveiled in 2017 at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan. This three-wheeled trike will be produced by ebikeGo in three different guises. The first is a premium trike for personal transport that can accommodate two riders and features seatbelts for both occupants.

The other two versions are for commercial use with one being a three-wheeled electric taxi while the other is a goods carrier that is dubbed the Velocipedo-C. The Velocipedo-C unlike the other models only features a windshield and will require the driver to wear a helmet when on the move. The Velocipedo-C electric goods trike can carry a load of up to 70 kilogrammes.

The Velocipedo is powered by a brushless motor connected to a 10kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The electric Velocipedo trike has a range of up to 200 kilometres and can reach a top speed of 95km/h. The electric trike weighs in at 180 kilogrammes which is quite light and is due to the use of carbon fibre and kevlar for its non-deformable 'cabin'.

The electric trike also features regenerative brakes which increase the range of this EV by around 10 to 20 per cent. The Torrot Velocipedo when plugged to a 220V output can fully charge its battery pack in one and a half hours.

The Velocipedo features a truly unique design with a very angular front end and a central headlamp unit mounted low up front. The Velocipedo sports two wheels up front and a single wheel at the rear. The front section sports enough space for the rider to keep their feet planted on the floor, while the pillion rider has to make do with footpegs which are situated on either side of the rider's seat.

The new Velocipedo is a connected trike and its onboard unit can monitor performance, location, and driver behaviour. The trike will also sport a host of anti-theft and security features. All the features of the Velocipedo can be monitored using a dedicated app.
